the biggest problem wrt to heat/battery is most low income folks are more likely to buy cheap e-bikes from sketchy amazon/walmart marketplace sellers, so we actually need strong regulation because I can imagine a bunch of low-quality cheap e-bikes flooding the market and being dangerous.
