Ditto!
Turn off reposts on specific people instead of everyone at once (or not at all)
"Can you explain this gap in your resume?"
That is when I decided to become crab and spent my days scuttling to and fro upon the sands. All knew the wrath of my mighty pincers, and my chittering invocations inspired fear from all benighted souls I did encounter. Next question?
"Can you explain this gap in your resume?"
yah that's where I watched the entirety of One Piece from the beginning
I mute and block a lot A LOT because my mental health is on a knife's edge, and I've nothing left over for any degree of foolishness. I can only believe that people who complain about people who block are writing from a position of privilege if they never feel the necessity of it ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
This is true. Even marauding and carnivorous crab hordes can be fun in the right circumstances ๐ฆ
I've not heard of them but I will investigate for as a reader, I can never get enough of eldritch beings
Who would not? ๐ But seriously, yes, that about sums up the plot!
Looks like I'll go the self-pub route with my Weird Gothic Thing unless someone knows of another small press open to a novella that begins with our protagonist nearly devoured by a horde of crabs only to be saved & nursed back to health by eldritch beings in a country where nothing is as it seems? ๐
The thing I struggle with on social media is much of what I post is most understandable by a core group of perhaps 100 people who have followed me for a long time and across several platforms but then complete strangers stumble across it and are rightly bumfuzzled and even aghast at its arcaneness.
Oh, you block alt text "scolds"? Well, I block alt text scold scolds. Checkmate?
(Don't bother coming at me with arguments against alt text, please. Let's save each other some time and energy.)
I mean it is tempting to push a button on Amazon & be able to offer audio versions for readers who prefer or need that option but I can only imagine what an AI voiced audio book would sound like. I think of your delightfully satirical novels being read by a robot & weep. Solidarity with voice actors
My Weird Gothic Thing was rejected but in the kindest, most encouraging way. Some publications have mastered the art of saying no in a way that removes the sting ๐
That's a hard one because I get where people are coming from with it and it is so exhausting to try and explain ๐ญ
I feel like this place is really coming alive now as I begin to regularly get either nonsensical or offensive replies to my posts. No social media site can truly be said to have arrived until such comments become commonplace.

New story prompt just dropped!
I have a million fountain pen inkes (maybe a billion) and up till today I was amazed that I've made it to June so far without buying more inkes (my only new year's resolution) -- then I was looking for an extension cord and FOUR ink samples appeared out of nowhere
Ink is just MANIFESTING
Reading a thing I wrote and haven't read in a while and discovering that rather than being a blundering and laughable mess of words that it is highly entertaining, well-written, moving and profound and that I love it, adore it, worship at the foot of each page of it. (This is a good feeling)
Absolutely. I have become so cynical about any of them being held to any account other than they will eventually die as we all do but they will probably die of old age in their mansions surrounded by luxuries such as excellent health care that the rest of us can only dream of
This. Watching even the faintest pretense of shame or embarrassment disappear from public discourse has been one of the more alarming developments. The people who should be most ashamed are the most shameless and there seems no way back from here as they suffer no consequences.
I know weirdness is just getting more conspicuous and humans have always been like this but....all the wrong people have gotten way too comfortable.
SHOW ME YOUR BONES!
Let's fill the timeline with skeletal goodness #art
Seconded
I have discovered if you take an unusually tall man & dress him in period costume that involves a well-fitted coat & perhaps boots then supply him with a quantity of archaic dialogue that he may spout in a low baritone while looking very serious, I will watch that & think very kindly of its creators
Always interesting to see which @whistprword.bsky.social daily prompts inspire the most posts.
Octopus was the clear winner by a mile. People do enjoy their cephalopods ๐
