HM King Piers of Peterborough, Emperor of East Anglia. I like secateurs. Cats, woodwork, metalwork, gardening, books and bookbinding, cheeses, whimsy. Also The Hobbyist.
Still loving the new tune even if my lips aren’t - sore from practice. That’s not a bad thing, though. Shows I’m trying and it will also lead to better performance next time. Trumpet isn’t easy!
Today has been a glum day (barring coots) and I don’t feel like I’ve done very much at all. Hmph. Hopefully tomorrow will be sunny and improve that outlook.
I keep forgetting to post this. It’s in the playground on my way to the coots. What on earth is it? (The thing on the orange pole?)
The parents and three still are, and I believe all three young coots are now diving for their food. Lovely development. #OldCootClub
Mother of Nine has, I think, six or seven left - they’re nearly fully grown! Mallard population sustained. They just ran out of the undergrowth across my path.
Is t this whole barefoot shoes movement really just about wearing school plimsolls?
I think I’m going to slowly replace all my watch straps with silicone ones. They don’t rot and smell, and they cope with my heat-expanding wrists better than most leather straps.
I’ve been foolish, forgotten it’s the first and so no pinches or punches or bags or white rabbits, just silence and a mild sulk from me.
I’m ought to get up for the second time. Shall I? It’s warm under my duvet.
I used to have a Red Bull and orange J2O when out clubbing to keep me awake. Both poured into a pint glass it was the perfect pick-me-up about 12:30.
8/10. Again, my 50/50s were my downfall. Even changed one of them away from the right answer! Pah.
I admit I once tried them but my untrained, ignorant ears failed to appreciate their efforts, sorry.
They’re labelling the labels so you’re warned there will be a warning.
Flugelhorn which for various reasons I barely touched until recently. Realising I enjoyed playing it, I bought a trumpet and the rest, as they say, is well documented on BlueSky.
Oh! Long held ambition. I played the Euphonium at school, but had to give that back when I left. Then I bought a trombone, but never really mastered the slide positions. I briefly owned a corner but it was rubbish and the mouthpiece too small - long before Amazon. Then in lockdown I bought a plastic
Me, of course! No, I jest.
Um, no. Not really. There are many I like, but I don’t really have a favourite. I’ll have to think on it…
While ropey at times, that was a truly exhilarating trumpet session! So loved it. Found a fab new tune to play that’s challenging but also appeals musically, and then thoroughly serviced the horn for the week ahead. I’d skipped the clean and oil last weekend. Anyway, HURRAY FOR TRUMPETS #Trumpet
My heating has come on all by itself. This is a turn up for the last day of May.
