Catherine Smyth-McMullen was a scarily smart 9 year old when I met her, who read Sandman. As an adult screenwriter, twenty something years later, she wrote episode 11 of the Sandman tv series...
I started reading The Sandman when I was 12. They were on comic number 9 or 10 at the time. I grew up to be a writer, goth, game developer, and professor. Correlation or causation - who knows? I'm sure they and other great stories nudged me along a good path.
Interesting Thread from Kurt.
You keep repeating "It's nice to know what you're getting into," as if DC is somehow at fault for not putting an age label of the books.
Except they have, right from the start.
SANDMAN was originally published with a "Suggested for mature readers" label, and I just checked by copies of the more...
I'm just glad that the vision you and Bucky and @sxbond.bsky.social had almost 20 years ago has become something that matters to so many people.
She's a Victorian ghost, and that's a Victorian pronunciation.

www.peytonstreetpens.comTechnically Coraline (top 500 girls' names) is beating out Mazikeen (top 1000). But the idea that I've put two names into the world is still impossible.
Writer Ayelet Waldman was with them (and was arrested).
I'm sure thst unless you follow Jewish media you have seen absolutely nothing about this but today a group of Isreali and US Rabbis were arrested at the Gaza border for demonstrating while attempting to bring a shipment of food to Palestinians. They are part of the group Rabbis for Ceasefire.
For years my grail was the Parker Falcon 50, to replace the one I bought and lost as a teenager. I didn't know what it was called or even how to describe it properly. It took the Internet to make it happen.
Absolutely!
I initially raised my eyebrows in surprise, but then I thought back on Mazikeen's story and character arc and, you know what? Great name for a kid!
That's even weirder for me than putting Coraline on the list.
Seems to be a popular name:

That's astonishingly close to something that actually happens to me!
Be particularly fun if it was one of those costumes that does a lot of the work.
That was Neri Oxman, and she was definitely the coolest person on the stage.
I wrote an introduction to AFAPP last year -- want me to send it over to you?
I've heard things like this and @annodracula.bsky.social's ANNO DRACULA sequence described as Wold Newton books, after Philip Jose Farmer's original tying together of fictional characters. But that's the best I can come up with.
I had something similar, realising that the man who wrote A FINE AND PRIVATE PLACE, and the later-discovered LAST UNICORN wrote the essay TOLKIEN'S MAGIC RING in THE TOLKIEN READER that introduced me to everything Tolkien aged about 9.

Just saw the first ep of Dead Boy Detectives. I had high expectations and the show still blew me away. Charles and Edwin were engaging and deeply heartfelt from the first. The show aesthetic was beautiful. The universe is fun. Can't wait to see the rest. Thank you @neilhimself.neilgaiman.com!
That's not how court jurisdiction works. And at this point I just pity him.
The series will go live about 9 hours from now on Netflix.
Oh I didn't realise Dead Boys Detective show was out now -
Amazing to have multiple Sandman related TV shows on at once.
Looking forward to watching, once I've got time off (which means next week for me....)
So glad you enjoyed it.
#DeadBoyDetectives first episode was very fun, gorgeous looking, funny and heartfelt. I'm excited to watch the rest! Thanks for the early screening @neilhimself.neilgaiman.com
It's a joy to experience @robinince.bsky.social's enthusiastic joy in books and in his father:

No, Marvel still have the rights. Interesting trivia — according to the court case, Todd is still obligated to pay me royalties for these. And he never has. Once a crooked publisher, always a crooked publisher, I guess.
@neilhimself.neilgaiman.com
Hi Neil! I picked up the latest printing of the first Spawn HC because it had been OOP for so long. To my surprise, the legal jargon lists Angela as a currently copyrighted and trademarked character from Todd McFarlane Productions. Did Marvel loose the rights?
I’m so glad.
Finally got it @neilhimself.neilgaiman.com ! Thanks to the Golden Notebook and international shipping #GoodOmens
Today I am thinking about my late cousin Helen Fagin, and wishing I had her here to talk about the world we are in.
