That's crazy. I remember reading you in Amazing Heroes and being so proud that we had an out gay writer in comics journalism. I figured you were an established part of the ecosystem. I'm so sad to learn the truth.
Good luck!

I wonder if it had a (now removed) rubber sac pump filling unit.
I love the idea of the Wilfred Bramble cover of Anarchy in the UK.
Not really. She had sort of stepped into the DC Universe as a real person. I put her in Books of Magic though.
Loved the Just William books, and Good Omens began as a William book. Never found the love for Bunter.
Terry Pratchett told me that the problem was that Mr Heyne (?) who actually owned the publishing company had made the Soup Advertising Deal himself personally, was v proud of it, and kept it going against the wishes of every other human being who worked for the company, not to mention the authors.
Star Trek had plenty of them too. I got a box of Star Trek novels from the Soup Era from a friend of the family’s and they really have some questionable gems.
And the lines are gloriously blurred -- Larry Wallis went on to produce most of Stiff's punk hits, and went out on the Live Stiffs tour...
Absolutely -- if you can, get it from your local bookshop or comics shop.
I think the cheapest way to get it is the six books in this set: amzn.to/4bI3wXU
(Preferably from your local bookshop or comics shop.)

amzn.toYou’re right. Never rely on memory! I bought both singles when they came out.
This is true. Yet it's half price on Amazon (and probably other places too). amzn.to/3yrgj2P
In order to actually get the trademark they would have to manufacture and sell their own "fuck the LAPD" merchandise, t-shirts and so forth.
Then read this thread...
Okay, this is the point where I cheerfully discard all shame… because I was there when this bit of the Deep Magic was written. In letters as deep as a spear is long, etc etc. https://www.dianeduane.com/outofambit/2015/02/14/whats-rihannsu-soup/
About the kinds of things that publishers can do to your novel after you turn it in, if you're not careful. In this case, soup ads are involved.

This is Pulitzer level literature, "The LAPD is not expected to like the existence of 'Fuck the LAPD' merchandise. But their sole remedy is to not do things that result in people wanting to buy and wear 'Fuck the LAPD' merchandise."
Sending so much love. Thinking of the day you and Jeff came to hang out in Wisconsin.

Wonderful!! Flex nibs like that stopped being a thing when Carbon Paper came in and you needed to be able to press harder. But they make your handwriting gorgeous.
There's a lovely book by Al Zuckerman called Writing the Blockbuster Novel which is really good on the step by step building process of it all.

Every now and then I see someone talk about Ray Bradbury as if the guy wrote sweetly sentimental tales about heartland America and I wonder wtf is happening. The man wrote about kids killing their parents with VR technology, an infant assassin, and Martians shapeshifting in order to kill humans.
People on this thread keep saying that as if there isn't a serial killer killing young women in Dandelion Wine.
On AI. A metaphor.
