I have lived in many valleys. I have left them all.
What a timeline to be living in!

The entire concept of charging more for "pre-existing" makes me insane. I'm still waiting for the day that some numbers "genius" realizes that all human DNA is linked, therefore, any medical need is pre-existing before one is even born.
I'd never thought of med insurance being structured this way, but I definitely can see how it could be seen that way.
I also would like to know the secret to this magick.
This exactly! It infuriates me on so many levels.
One of which includes my own personal experience of being shamed for, essentially, not being rich/privileged/whatever enough to see any sort of doctor any time I want w/o said practitioner acknowledging how broken our health care system is here. 😑
This whole wordful madness...so much win.
I can't thank everyone enough.
Laughing so hard my lap kitty is annoyed I won't let her sleep.😏
I mean...that dramatic finger spread pose to begin with...😏
PLEASE, bitch. Ain't no one with sense buying it.
Not taking that bet!
All I saw while scrolling at first was the pic. Then I read the post, and turned around to my partner. As I pointed at it and tried to explain that this person was purportedly against gays, first the eyebrow raise came into effect--then we both just laughed our asses off.
Wear a cap/headscarf/headband/bobbypin them back. Anything to remind you why you didn't cut them prior.
Say NO to bored haircutting!
I know the weather has been wonky this year in so many places, but hope some of the guidelines in the link below will help others as it has helped me try to sit on my hands to not disturb anymore overwinter-ers than necessary! 🌱

I prolly could have just said that to me, the entire thread was
"much ado about nothing". 😅
I spent way too much time trying to understand that.
Some self referential madness is ok.
When I have to waste more than 20 minutes trying to weed through replies only to suspect that the entire damn thing is an inside joke one "had to be there" for to understand?
Who has that sort of free time?!

You know someone is a good friend when you say, "I know we were supposed to go out, but I'm catted," and the other person, knowing said cat is elderly and you might only have so much time with them replies, "Ok, I'll be over in a half an hour with some food."
Something from the vaults which I offer to the #Caturday deities.
(I might have posted this on another bsky account of mine--I have a few because my brain is happier with such segmentation.)
I really hope everyone finished the article all the way to its totally not rational end.
Way to try to take out what few people DO qualify! Support the troops, indeed.🙄
Lady Sylvie is the same with that! And she's a wriggler so I have to towel burrito her to trim.
I present two images to the #Caturday deities.
They are "Pre-Windowsill Era" (2019) and "Modern Day" (2024).
I admit it. I giggled like a child.
(And thank you for that moment!)
So close...

2 ✔️(I drew it myself, but I'm counting it.)

4 ❔ (Our home has a ghost kitty, and a tiny bog garden on our front moorish slope where the azaleas and rhododendrons thrive with the grasses.)
Honestly, it's why I was surprised to not find one!
One site I haven't been as active on of late always has one every Wednesday. 🐶
I did just check, and it appears no one on bsky has started a #woofday feed yet. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before someone fixes that omission.
Wouldn't that still be in time for Woofday, though? 🦴
Took me a minute to realize there are two different flowers, and two different posters.
Why, yes, I just made tea and haven't had a sip yet. Why do you ask? 🥱
Because silly reasons, it's spelled Automattic, but yes.
Or their AI just isn't up to the task of proper proofreading just yet.
Isn't that one of the drugs that gets advertised where they have to speed up the voice over so everything that has to be legally mentioned gets mentioned before the ad ends?

I don't know if anyone noticed...but Teloschistaceae is currently the front page featured article on wikipedia as of the moment I am posting this... How cool is that?! 🍄 🌱

When we bought this house, we removed the cheap programmable as we don't have the sort of schedule any kind of programmable would make sense to use.
It was replaced with a NOS thermostat from the era the house was built, and more than once we've gotten compliments on it.
🥵
(I went to an art school with glass and metal forges. Sure, outside is super cold in winter there.
Yet there's totally NOT weather related reasons so many peeps hang out in the upper galleries that overlook the forge areas ANY time they're firing.
Jes' sharing since related to what was asked.)
Ack. Forgot to mention this is Mendel, the second of his name. He is similar in many ways to Oggers--but they are not the same kitty. Mendel's fur is much softer and he is a very shy boi.
An offering to the #Caturday deities, in three acts.

🦉A reminder for folks who might need it-the Great Backyard Bird Count is this weekend, Feb. 16–19.
If you've never participated before, it's a nice low stress citizen science/naturalist sort of thing. You only need 15 minutes for a count to count--not much of a commitment by far!
www.birdcount.org
Each year people from around the world come together to watch, learn about, count, and celebrate birds. Join us in February!
www.birdcount.orgGood to know. And great to hear you still have a local art store, with the bonus they'll take donations towards great ends. Very envious.
I love this.
As to possibly binning the paper...can't you offer it for free on a site like Freecycle or something similar?
If you don't already know, under "Settings" there's a super helpful reminder that makes sure you always insert alt txt before posting an image.
Because we can't edit posts, I've reposted the image here with alt txt because I think this message is important and hope it reaches more folks this way.
I just realized your very helpful message would be shared with more folks here on bsky if it had alt txt.
If you don't yet know, the Devs added a reminder function in our Settings under "Accessibility". Look for the slider "Require alt txt before posting." I've found it helpful so many times over.
I just realized your very helpful message is getting lost to some folks here on bsky because it's missing alt txt.
The devs added a reminder function which I myself have found very helpful. In your Settings under "Accessibility" there's a slider for "Require alt txt before posting."
Still wonderful, at any age. 😻
(FWIW, also love the ink!)
But, but, but...there's already so many! 🤭

The thing that worries me with systems like this is a story I had seen recently where a library in England (I think it was) lost a tremendous amount of work they had digitally scanned because the originals were deteriorating/had no physical room for, etc. Let me see if I can find a link to it.
