Spoke too soon.
I don't remember the last year there was no spring flooding in Minnesota
School is almost out and I haven't quite finished my 6th grade project
There was a circus performer who could stretch his spine from 5'9" to 6'3". I think about him some now.
I've always been 6'0" and my last doctor appointment said 5'11" It also weighed me 15 pounds heavier than I've ever been.
5/5 John Walker wrote "Halliwell's 1000 Essential Films" in 2005. His films chosen after Halliwell's death are incongruous, heavy on then-current French films that are now obscure and hard to find (especially with subtitles).
So, with all those caveats, is it a good list of films? Not really.
4/X He published "Halliwell's Hundred" favorite reviews, followed with another 100 in "Halliwell's Harvest." Only 90% of the first book and 70% of the second are on the list of 1000.
Halliwell died in 1986 and others tried to update his film guide, but it drifted from his vision and taste.
3/X Leslie Halliwell wrote the first really successful film guide in 1977. I had a copy; his taste and mine at age 15 were similar, though mine has changed significantly. It's films you could watch with your kids: slapstick, musicals, etc. He loved British films, disliked Hollywood.
2/X The list on Letterboxd is a bit of a mess. It has 1042 films because the original list has some series and collections (Laurel and Hardy shorts are most of the extra), which total 1043, but he didn't list one because it wasn't on Letterboxd when he made the list. There are also 6 wrong films.
I completed another film list. This one requires a short thread of explanation. 🧵1/X

Taken from the book of the same name, which can be found at www.amazon.com/Halliwells-Top-1000-Ultimate-Countdown/dp/0007181655 From the book: "Trading on its impeccable reputation, Halliwell’s now…

This film has a character named Nora Bayes that I keep hearing as "Norman Bates."
In my local park, there's often surveys that you can only access with a QR code; that self-selects the answers they want.
I have a bag where I put shopping bags to recycle and I put the bag with the bananas in it. Then I kicked it a couple times, it looks like.
I lost a bunch of bananas and it took an hour to find them. That's just a weird thing to misplace.
I keep tying my record

My last birthday that ended in a zero I decided I wanted to go to a Twins game and ended up with friends in a corporate account box right behind 1st base.
The restaurant recommendations are really typical. When I met Ed Koch when he was running for office, I said I was a tourist, and he asked if I'd eaten and told me about a nearby restaurant.
I do it all the time with people running. People on film don't run the way they would in the same circumstances in real life.
The curse of knowing too much. Watching a film where someone breaks a bone punching a wall and they show the x-ray. That wasn't a boxer's fracture.
I'm guessing modern roads and Rollerblades and it's not hard now.
There's only one French actor at any time in the last 50 years:
Gerard Depardieu
Daniel Auteuil
Jean Reno
Vincent Cassel
Swann Arlaud
Interesting! I wouldn't expect it to work so well, but the alcohol appears to both dissolve the sugar and emulsify the fat from the cocoa. Does it taste heavily of vanilla? Does it dry out and crack as the alcohol evaporates?
It's mostly that I haven't seen her much, if at all, in all that time. The others (who live) I've watched grow old.
Oof. I made it to the first commercial break of the first episode before I felt sorry for them and turned it off.
