Bald eagle with fish, stipple drawing, inspired by scenes I saw when I lived along the Hood Canal in WA state. #art 🪶
Going to log off for a while. The donation posts are a bit overwhelming today.
More like a super villain! That owlet is serving major villain face, haha.
Birdeye speedwell, growing wild in Ridgecrest, CA. An introduced species, it has been used to treat heart ailments, arthritis, and as a snakebite treatment. 🌱
They're so much fun to watch! When I was last in Morro Bay, the surf was really high and strong, so it was fun watching them going back and forth.
Wait...you have a tumor on your liver and your appointment is in...September????
Thank you! 🥰 I'm still trying to get a handle on how to write AltText and wasn't sure if it was insensitive to mention colors.
I'm torn between a Desert bluebell and a Charlotte's phacelia. The leaves look more like a Charlotte's but the flower looks more like a Desert bluebell. Ridgecrest, CA. Thoughts? 🌱
My husband and I both try to find news that the other doesn't know so that we can discuss it at breakfast. I think that keeps us in the loop pretty well.
They always say to not keep meds in the bathroom, but it's the only place I remember to take them!
Up close and personal Western Gull feet, Morro Bay. It has a hole in one of them. Enlarge to see all the details. 🪶
Hungry ground squirrels, but it's nice to see them eating something other than human-provided junk food. Morro Bay, CA. 🦊
For me, it's the scent of lavender and rosemary that I'm done with.
My bread never rose until I started proofing in the microwave. Put a glass of water in the microwave, heat on high for 1 min, then quickly put the dough in there and close the door. Do not start the microwave. The heat/steam from heating the water will help rise the dough. Keep the glass in there.
Thanks! My husband is a keen observer and watches for that kind of thing. The only problem is that he works, so I'm home alone for huge chunks of time every day. No family here. So I have to be vigilant for myself. 😬
It's scary when you have a history of depression and PTSD then they put you on a medication that can cause depression and thoughts of the end game. I really don't want to go back to that dark place.
After our quakes and the aftershocks that followed, many in town slept outside of their houses and it was in the middle of July here in the desert! Take care of yourself. The constant stress from all of it can really wear you down without you realizing.
My doctor just put me on Singulair and the black box warning scares me.
Oh no! What magnitude? Our dogs became afraid of any noise for years after our 6.4 and 7.1. There are a lot of people I know who get used to them, but not me. Even the small ones get me anxious.
I love that refuge! I never saw javelinas there, but will keep an eye out for them next time I go. I love the lighting in these photos!
I was fortunate to visit the Charles Paddock Zoo in Atascadero, CA last week and see the brand new baby Mongoose Lemur! Look at that little tongue! 🦊
