Picked up my first @neilhimself.neilgaiman.com book, Anansi Boys, at our local bookstore and am excited to finally get to read something from a writer everyone keeps recommending to me. I’ve been checking the shelves for months and finally one appeared!
Beautiful! So many desert wildflowers are what I call “belly flowers,” meaning you have to get on your belly to see them.
I remember that!! After our 7.1 earthquake, I wasn't going to allow any patient under our gamma camera until it was inspected by the product's engineer. All you need is one sheared bolt and the entire camera will drop onto the patient. Future patients asked, and were happy to know it was inspected.
The P.E.T. (positron emission tomography) scanner that our hospital bought when I lived in WA had the on/off switch right where your knee could hit it if you were sitting at the console. We ended up taping a small plastic cup over it so we couldn't turn it off during a patient's scan.
While on Kauai, I visited the Kawaiʻele Waterbird Sanctuary. As soon as I began walking the trail, these chickens came out of a bush and hurried over to me, snuggling up against my leg! After letting them do that for a bit, I continued the trail, but they followed me everywhere! 🪶
HAHAHAHA! Forget hands. If you want to test out an AI software program, tell it to generate a chess board! Just look at these!!! Look at that humongous knight! 🤣🤣🤣 (I now have more reasons to hate AI.)
Most of the interaction I get on here is through feeds. When I don't post using feeds, I get very little interaction. Feeds take some getting used to, though.
Is it normal aging to see a tentacled black blob for 10+ minutes after watching TV?
In our daily police blotter, it said someone had called the cops because they saw a man carrying a sewing machine down the street.
I've never cared for the story, but I'm enjoying seeing clips of the visuals.
Just look at this amazing hibiscus I found in Kauai at our resort! I've never seen a hibiscus that color!
Why do people hold garage sales and then smoke right where the people are trying to look. I've lost count of the number of garage sales I've bailed on because of this.
On my recent trip to Hawaii, Ontario airport pulled my bag aside and had to swab my brand new Nikon camera lens. They also patted down my left shoulder. What's Nikon doing in their facility, haha.
So if a large, black bird is sitting in my driveway making low, guttural knocking sounds, that's a raven, not a crow, right? 🪶
A bit far from home, poor bird. I understand why they won't say where they moved him, but I really want to know.
Have any of you had cataract surgery? My husband is having it on Thursday and is a nervous wreck. He's 71.
Unfollowing, as you don't engage with anyone who replies to your posts. I understand not engaging someone who asks mental health/medical questions, but to not even thank or "like" others for appreciating what you do is super dismissive.
My favorite plane! I got to meet one of the pilots in Lancaster, CA years ago. He found it amusing that I called him my version of a rock star. I have a picture somewhere of me wearing his flight helmet.
I was laughing so hard. How my husband could continue asking about snacks….. “salty preferred?” 🤣😂🤣😂
Maybe because I have homemade banana bread waiting for me in the kitchen?
My mind saw that as a plate with a broken center and a plaid fabric underneath. WTF, brain, don't you know a donut when you see it!?!?!?
They used to give me a discount because I'd buy items there to give to kids after I did a nuclear medicine scan on them. They loved that I wasn't giving out simple stickers or candy.
RIP Iris Apfel at 102 years old. She was a woman who lived life on her own terms and showed the world that women later in life can dress with imagination and style. What an icon! If you've never heard of her, view her instagram page: www.instagram.com/iris.apfel
One of my alien creature drawings is based on this kind of insect! I've always found them to be quite humorous.
I took this photo years ago and still think it has a creepy, haunting feel to it.

I had my gallbladder removed and I eat spicy foods all the time. The hardest was fatty foods, but eventually your body adjusts. Now I eat all the same things I did before the surgery.
