Judy greer is a MENACE (awestruck)
Oh my friend you're in for a TREAT
Some really amazing people, here. Looking forward to digging into this.
I first saw Cursed on DVD in 2005, and have been utterly hooked, since.
Also, dear god, Michael Rosenbaum, that wig. 😂
Cursed is not a good movie but it does star Christina Ricci, Joshua Jackson, AND Judy Greer as werewolves so I am unfortunately all the way in, ride or die, forever. 🤷🏾♂️

Ooooooh. Have you ever read beth singler's "#Blessed By the Algorithm"? I think this fits as a natural progression of exactly that, but i need more examples
I don't just want us to have a seat at the table, I want us all to help co-design the menu
Too many of us stay trying to get seats at the table before we even know what we're eating
That's EXACTLY it.
Oh the initial setup has a lot of mental friction, especially regarding choosing servers/instances, but it can be easy to just sink into & go w/ once that hurdle is cleared. The difficulty I find is the factious, internecine dramas that can play out BECAUSE of the constructions of servers/instances.
Definitely the former.
It's a start, but it definitely needs some work.
Yeah; I try to very intentionally focus on the good interactions, but the bad ones today were just… woouf.

That is indeed very interesting. I think experiences on both are so community dependent, but every so often my stuff on masto will get boosted by Just the correct vector to bring just a torrent of hostility into my mentions. It's not to say it DOESN'T happen to me here, just that it is so much less.
And drama-filled. Snidely mansplainy and drama-filled
I REALLY liked Mastodon, when i started— really good community practices, decent conversations and genuine attempts at dialogue—but at this point sometimes it genuinely feels like that place gets more snidely mansplainy by the day
If you want to watch it yourself, it's here:
Watched the White House briefing on "AI," & while several points President Biden discussed shared language & conceptual framing w/ things the best voices in "AI" Ethics & Justice research have advocated, there were also some spaces which, shall we say, could definitely benefit from said groups input

Damn I love this man's acting
Totally forgot that was Zahn McClarnon as Crow Daddy in 'Doctor Sleep.'

Sorry, I misspoke: This was the repeated MOTIF of "Cash," not the chorus.
The CHORUS of "Cash" was
"I need some fucking cash
You need some fucking cash
We all need some fucking cash
Run and get my gun"
…"cash, i need some fucking cash, & I gotta make it fast, I need it now, right away right away."
When the Super Cat remix of "Fly" blew up, mcgrath refit the band's ENTIRE sound to a vaguely-island-inspired bland-ass pop rock, w/ virtually indistinguishable singles like "Every Morning" & "Someday"…
I don't know what you're up to but whatever it is would probably be improved by the inclusion of some @ghostcopnyc.bsky.social
…If you go back to 1995's 'Lemonade & Brownies,' you'll find a much heavier alternative vibe & stuff that verges on speed metal.
…But flip that around & play it back & you can see McGrath chasing trends to make a mark, & Very Occasionally hitting upon something kind of decent or even outright Good.
CASH I'm gonna make it LAST don't tell me about the PAST
…however, if you go back to 1997's 'Floored,' you'll find (in addition to "Cash") funk metal and nu metal songs like "Speed Home California" and "RPM," but also this frankly kind of amazing cover of Adam and the Ants' "Stand And Deliver"…

So thing about mark mcgrath is that he was absolutely never shy about being in music for the money and fame, & had a kind of self-aware knowing wink about it that almost made him charming. The song that made them famous was on an album with another song called "Cash," the chorus of which was…
That is WILD. At some point, I might like to talk to you more about what you remember of your experiences there.
Okay, so I'd say brown sugar, not white, and straight up ketchup instead of tomato paste, but this one's a good basis:
Let me see what i can find!
Seriously! Eddie's vs Captial City vs City Wings (RIP): all different, all great
I dunno! Surprise me with something good for chicken, and easily adaptable to not include onions?
See that sounds pretty straightforward, and hard to mess up. Mambo sauce is DELICATE.
That said, i'm all about the recipe exchange idea, too!
Ohhh capital city has you covered, friend!
Our signature sauce will win you over the minute you taste it. Capital City™ mambo sauce creates a sweet and tangy addition to any dish. With its great tomato base and lightly sweet flavor, it’s ...
www.capitalcity.comOh I'll definitely have to ask him. He's primarily in jazz, but did a lot in funk and Go-Go. Anyway: Always good meeting another D.C. er with experience of the Culture
