Milo's a growing boy and a HUGE breed. Feed him all he wants for the next 3-4 years and taper off to a maintenance diet when he's grown up so he doesn't over-chonkify. (I'm sure you, as a cat dad already know this.)
He is really growing incredibly fast. I have noticed his growth and his appetite. He can pack away food and he plays hard all day so he probably burns it all off.
we have a Norwegian forest cat so he is like a mini main coon. He eats like he is 3d printing himself out of meat
Norwegian forest cats are beautiful and so similar looking to a Maine Coon. I have a hard time telling the two apart.
They are about 20-30% smaller than the Main Coon. You may not be able to see it side by side but you could tell if you tried to pick them up
I seen a ragdoll and it was a huge cat also. Lots of big cat breeds are popular. We have had rescue cats and Siamese and i can say Maine Coons have a very different personality than any cat we ever owned before.
They are royalty. Absolute gods. they know they own you. Not the other way around.

Ragdoll girls (like my Charlie) come in around 10-15 pounds, boys 20-25. The epic floof makes them look even larger.
And the floof literally kills my brain. I'm working - creating some intricate infographic that measures shit in complicated ways & here he comes along & my brain goes to mush & I'm good for nothing but scritches for the next ten minutes.
Weegies are wonderful. My bruv has one currently (just turned 14) and one who passed a few years ago whom we're all still mourning. Sweetest cats ever.
So sweet. He sleeps w us & spends his time cuddling w each of the kitties at least 1x a day. He keeps the peace around here is the ONLY one that the street kitty rescue will allow near her. Even SHE lets him give her cuddles.
We've been feeding w raw meat & the vet says they are younger by years.

You know we've never tried giving eggs to our cats. Maybe we should. We always keep a bag of tiny peeled prawns in the freezer to thaw out for treats though and they love them.
He loves scrambled eggs with no spices or butter. Just spray and a little piece of cheese. I will have to give him a piece of shrimp. He likes fish.

Some initial interest but quite a lot was left. Think we'll try again in a week or so as we've noticed they like to test a little bit of new foods before really wading in.

He is ten weeks old and his dad was huge so he isn’t going to be a small cat. I like the idea of a big cat so I don’t mind of he gets really big. Maybe he can be a good mouser.
Oh he's definitely going to be big. I have a friend who used to breed Maine Coons, and the males especially were HUGE.
We have a girl kitten that a stray literally brought to our door back in August; the vet says she's a MC but she's not nearly big enough. She's almost 7 months old now, but probably only around 6 lbs so far.
I have seen smaller Maine Coons. They come in so many colors also. Ur cat looks part Maine Coon. Milo likes water and we have never had a cat that likes water before.
Oh they definitely like water - I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend keeping the toilet lid closed from now on, unless you want water all over the bathroom floor. Or a cat just hanging out in the toilet; that happened to my friend @seananmcguire.bsky.social.

You never expect cats to like water so its funny seeing ones that like water. I am not sure if Milo can swim or not. I will have to see what he does with a tub with a few inches of water.

I have had several cats who like water. One used to jump in the full tub and slosh around. A friend's cat used to swim in their pool.
Our Siamese hated water so it’s very different having a water cat. Maybe Milo will need a kiddie pool.

🥰 we had a Maine Coon he was 28 pounds and the vet said he was the biggest cat she had in her practice. He had sea green eyes and was gorgeous. He drooled when he slept fortunately he choose to sleep 💤 on my other half’s head 😂

Could I please suggest you get him a different harness? One that goes around his upper torso and not neck? It is safer and less hurtful on his little neck🥰🥰🥰
He just got a new one today. Just need to figure out how to put it on him. Not sure outdoors is safe. He is being treated for parasites. He didn’t have them when we first got him.

Yep Milo has a vet.
One of our cats had no interest in going outside and lived 17 happy years being an indoor cat. Another one ( main coon and Abyssinian mix) could not be kept from going outside, he tore trough screen doors and we had a challenge keeping him in after dark. They are all very different personalities🤗🤗🥰
😆 They do sound different. Milo is on Albo Suspension for treatment from some bacterial infection he developed from parasites. He has a wellness plan and pet insurance. He also caught worms and fleas so he got in all kinds of trouble going outside.

Yes definitely worm him. Vet said i need a blood test and stool sample from Milo. Then said he has some infection caused by parasites and then he has worms and fleas. Going outside cats pick up all kinds of stuff. Dog never had any problems going outside.

Milo sure doesn’t act sick. Runs around crazy when i see him. Stummer might be more hearty than Milo. I didn’t know kittens are suppose to get so many recommended shots the first year. Vets follow a recommended treatment plan.

No way declawed,thats feckin madness.Yes he havin his nuts off!My reasoning been he will go looking for company,nearest cats literally miles away ,he will have to go on roads,and will likely meet a bad end.Plus ,i dont want him spraying in the house David ,and neutering should stop that.

Also, for male cats in general, it is very important that you do not let them get too fat and make sure they get plenty of water. Feed wet food or mix dry with water. This will help avoid problems with the urinary tract. They have a small urethra, so overweight=bad sometimes.

Think about the declawing as well, very painful and traumatizing for cat, you can maintain claws by regular clipping and have lots of interesting scratch posts available.
I was never even contemplating that as an option ,its cruel and ridiculous,i wouldnt deserve the privalege of owning a pet if i considered mutilating it in this fashion!.

He got that right!Strummers a bugger for having a go at the furniture,and the bottom step of my carpeted stairs is getting a terrible clawing daily,but declawing never was or never will be on the agenda!
Squeak clawed everything in our house including walls! So much damage! I would accept three times that damage if I could have had Squeak for a bit longer.. 🤦♀️😢💔

We had him for 8 years. He had myocarditis. I console myself knowing he lived his life in triple time, he was a hellion, a huge personality, sweet and loving but a demon on four legs! We have had many cats , loved them all but Squeak is the one that stays in my heart..💔💔

Oooo he is exactly like Milo. Milo hates the vet and has to be tranquilized before going in. It must be a Maine Coon thing. He HATES shots and will fight anyone that tries to give him a shot. His vet has a nurse and she has to hold him.
Milo is really hyper and loves to play. He loves toys and begs for food all the time. He plays fetch and he is starting to learn NO. He walks on a leash and likes snow. He doesn’t have his adult winter coat though so he can’t walk long.
