I just checked a package of Nature Clean laundry strips. The front of the package says “plastic-free”, with a crossed-out icon of a plastic detergent bottle. The 2nd ingredient is polyvinyl alcohol. Are they playing with the meaning of ‘plastic’? Or is it just the packaging that’s plastic-free?
All the stuff that holds these things together and dissolves once it hits water is PLASTIC. These things are just pouring microplastics into our waterways. This is actually really forward thinking. Hidden behind so many modern conveniences is waste and pollution. 🤪 🧪

A really cool eco friendly version (and pretty cheap too tbh) is Smol. I'm not sure if the pods themselves are plastic free but they do contain fewer chemicals, have plastic free packaging, and are totally vegan friendly.
