Ceasefire if the hostages are returned. Then Israel needs to guarantee its security. Returning Gaza to Hamas control is not a viable solution to that.

Keep extending the ceasefire until all the hostages are released and then keep extending it again to develop a real political solution to guarantee peace, security, dignity, and freedom for all.
Hamas needs to release all hostages if they are to be taken seriously re: ceasefire.
To clarify, if Hamas released hostages it might reach a ceasefire but a ceasefire and peace are different things. A ceasefire is returning to before October 7, peace is a free Palestine.
Addressing how hostages need to be returned from Hamas and also Putin.
"Israel has an obligation to protect innocent civilians in Gaza."
"Most of whom are not Hamas"
"2 million people displaced"
Says he's working towards a 6 week ceasefire to get all hostages out.
The solution is a ceasefire. Its inevitably going to happen now. And is happening.. Israel will annex Northern Gaza bc they can and nobody can stop them . Nobody is willing to give Palestine any sort of security guarantee.
Egyptian security sources: Israel and Hamas are open to a ceasefire, and the remaining disagreement is over the details
(Via Gaza Now)
Lib Zionists be like "it's not PROGRESSIVE to let Hamas control the Gaza. a ceasefire isn't PROGRESSIVE. the PROGRESSIVE solution is to bomb and raid and blockade Gaza until Hamas and all its supporters are dead, which is a thing that can totally be done and won't have blowback."
Israel has said no to a ceasefire that would have freed the hostages because Israel wants to free the hostages.
If you think this is contradictory doublethink, it’s because you are anti semitic Hamas.
No ceasefire until the hostages are returned, and Hamas is destroyed.
He couldn't even guarantee security control over Israel, so how is he going to accomplish that over Gaza?
20% is still catastrophic to a fighting force's cohesion; if Hamas has lost 20% then it's about to collapse and then the incentives for members change - e.g. if Israel is about to take full control of Gaza then it's better to be on its good side and say where the hostages are kept.
Hamas has said its whole reason for being is to wipe out Israel and all the Jews.
Israel has said its operations are to retrieve the hostages. If Hamas releases the hostages, it ends Israel's justification for bombarding Gaza. Hamas won't release the hostages, which would end Israel's operations.
There's not going to be a ceasefire until Israel fully destroys Gaza. That is their plan. It's not about the hostages.
Hamas needs to return the hostages. Also Israel needs to stop a massive bombing campaign which is killing children, and also threatening the lives of hostages in gaza. If you care about the hostages, you shouldn't want them to be bombed.
Israel rejects ceasefire due to concerns Hamas would release hostages

And I should amend- if Hamas rolls up and leaves Gaza, and hostages are returned- Israel will stop.
Hamas isn’t showing any desire to do so.
"Hamas didn't release the hostages yet."
Hamas wants a permanent ceasefire. Israel shoots and bombs their own hostages. Gaza has no reason to accept a crappy deal.
So if say Israel stops and Hamas continues to kill is that OK? Because it takes two to ceasefire… and hostages are also dying…
I'm not saying I agree w/ the way Israel is conducting this war. But Hamas is not agreeing to return the hostages either. I think it is very important that the hostages are returned to their families.
It's not a small point. If Israel was at all OK with dead hostages being returned then Hamas has zero incentive to keep any of the ~140 remaining hostages alive.
I’m boggled by the people who are angry for Israel not agreeing to a unilateral ceasefire but not angry that Hamas refused to turn over these hostages in exchange for a mutual ceasefire.
Israel offered Hamas a two-month ceasefire to release all hostages

Hamas will not release hostages unless Israel agrees to a permanent ceasefire & Israel agrees to release their hostages who are now over 10k.
The US and Israel only want a 6 week ceasefire. After which the genocide will restart.
Hamas will obviously not agree to this which means the US will 2/
