I suspect this perception began with the introduction of SSRIs, which are much safer, but less effective, than other antidepressants. As for those who think SSRIs are dangerous, well, it's clear they don't know jack shit about drugs, anyway.
I know big pharma has, uh, problems โ but the general perception of antidepressants as useless surprises me. I wouldn't be here without the right meds.

Antidepressants and antipsychotics are essentially narcotics that donโt get you high. They only cause brain damage and other negative side effects. Shooting your patient in the head is more ethical and humane than prescribing them these medications.
Feel like the side effects of the antidepressants are kicking in....
