I have seen the discourse on the Other Place re: TTRPGs, and yes, it's about why D&D is the only game some people will play, even if they're playing RP-heavy, combat-light stories.

It's: "You can play anything with this system!" vs. "I AM BEGGING YOU TO PLAY LITERALLY ANY OTHER GAME!" again.
