To be fair within their universe, the Galaxy class is absolutely phenomenally large. It's like two or three times larger than then most ships in the federation, so big would definitely be a good and obvious adjective for it if you lived in that place and time

If in the future we can build space ships with gravity and life support systems, no part of me believes that ships would have to be "foxed" this often from the outside in Sci-Fi stuff.

The use of gravity in that opening of Dune 2 might be the first time in awhile I’ve felt the scale of outer space in a sci-fi movie, maybe since the first shot of Star Wars.

I think the biggest difference in the love (non-asshole) Star Wars fans have for it vs. the way Trek fans love Trek is that no one in their right mind actually wants to live in a Star Wars society because it’s seriously pretty bad, whereas the vast majority of federation space seems like a paradise.

It's actually been pretty common in recent years. One of the stations in our building streams their morning show on Twitch. I would not like it, however.

Maneuverability in space is relative. Both Ships would be as maneuverable as their engines would allow.

In an Atmosphere Falcon has a top speed just under the speed of sound.

Federation ships don’t do atomsphere, but Type 6 Shuttle has a max cruising speed of between mach 10 and Mach 25.
