I have written newspaper opinion pieces.
That doesn’t change the fact that most op-eds are worth very little attention. Even if they appear in an Ivy League paper.

I think I'm most offended by the fact that it doesn't even appear to be an electric blanket.
bet they put that line on all the op-eds as boilerplate though
people are very very bad at distinguishing between news stories and opinion essays, this is the newspaper trying to get them to notice that these are different things
No, I’m saying they are VERY 1984… and that, in fact, I miss their little paper foil wrappers.
It doesn't matter how many briefs are written if all the justice reads are WSJ op-eds.
There are people who get into the Ivy League the same way. And UVA didn’t develop a top-level athletic program by having an unbreakable GPA barrier. The point is that assuming no Ivy League graduates are worth hiring makes as little sense as assuming that they all are
yeah, I enjoyed it in general, tho the ending felt a bit rushed for my liking. That doesn't change the fact most of the characters are very well written and treated with care
A man might have negative belief(s) about themself "that they are worth little to none", possibly even act(ed) upon that, but that doesn't mean "they are worth little to none".
Do you know who the most exhausting people are? Those who have an opinion on EVERYTHING. And they have to make sure you know it. It doesn’t matter if they know anything about the subject, or even if they care. What matters is the opinion.
It is fine to say “I don’t really have an opinion on that”.
Agree. I generally detest op-eds written by regular opinion columnists.
The fact that they make them at all is just an admission that Reese's Pieces are very good.
Don’t even like Ivy League and same for students that go there. They are the 1%.
Why does every major newspaper require opinion pieces to be the most insane stuff ever put on paper?
If the IDF bombs an Ivy League school I'll have to seriously reconsider my opinion on Israel.
The Blevins own the Seattle Times.
They are not very bright.
The opinion page of that paper reads like it was written in half-eaten crayon.
CUNY is literally in New York City and has more students that the whole Ivy league put together and it doesn't get as much attention as one Ivy league school in the Times.
I don't give a damn how many "happy endings" there are. Most are heartbreaking, but even if they were all like fairy tales, the fact that all women deserve a choice doesn't change.
Having a best friend who challenges you intellectually is worth almost as much, if not more than, an official education even at the most elite of Ivy League institutions, I have found.
I will extend this to say that even if the protests were violent, that would not change the fact that they are good.
No these are different spaces, they are the ones in the basement 'discovered' last week. Regardless, even if they were that doesn't change the fact that their use for military purposes is a war crime.
Please don't ignore CUNY in the discussion of NYPD brutalizing college protesters. Ivy League campuses always get more attention and yet Ivy League students are often the most protected.
jesus.
Hundreds of officers burst through the City College gates, clearing out a Gaza solidarity encampment.
