My new lens arrived today (yay!). Right outside the house an American Red Squirrel volunteered to be my first subject photographed with the new kit. Was a dark overcast sky and even darker in the woods, so I'm pretty pleased with the performance.

For those interested, this was shot handheld at 1/400 second at f/6.3 and ISO 4000. Cleaned up in Lightroom.

Testing my new camera and lens. The details are a little soft, as this was handheld, but I'm impressed so far. Hope to be able to go out and test in the daylight soon. Nikon Zfc with a Nikkor 50-250 lens. Shot at 1/250sec, f/6.3, ISO 800.
Got out for a short hike in the Big Woods to check out my new Nikon Z7II and the 28mm f/2.8 and 40mm f/2 small Z primes. I was pleased with the shooting experience and am pleased with the results. This is a nice, light kit.
Right now I'm using a Nikon Z9 with a Nikkor f/6.3 800mm PF lens.

Shot with a Pentax 645Z and the PENTAX-FA 645 400mm F5.6 ED [IF] lens. I think that one was f/16 1/160s at iso 400.
This was shot in March 2018, on expired Kodak 400, with a Nikon FE, my absolute favourite camera. iirc the lens was a Nikon 28mm f/2.8 AI
Nude photography can be so much fun. This shot taken at 3 am Dec 2 2024 with the wrong lens. Still had the 50mm Takumar mounted so took the shot at 1/4000th of a second and the aperture closed as far as this lens allows, F/16.
Shot to right is a crop of shot one.
The last photo is with my Nikon Z5 and the Nikkor 24-200 lens, f 6.3, the first photo is with my iPhone 14. The middle picture is with my old iPhone XS.
Trying out the new Nikon 105mm macro lens for Z mount cameras. Handheld. ISO 1600, 1/125s, f/36. Photo is straight from the camera with no color adjustments. Only cropped.
The Sun with a 300mm lens, the darkest lens filter I could find, f/8, and an ISO set at 200
Got a neat little macro lens filter to throw on my longboi lens and it is pretty neat! Not very practical for handheld though, great for tripods

My other 120N broke, so first roll with the new one. No light leaks, and the new lens has plenty of ‘character’, very pleased 😁
This was taken ten minutes after the school photo for this year needed a second shot, the first shot of which triggered the shading of my transition lens, so I looked like a jazz musician trying a new side hustle, and all I could do was smirk.
Picked up a new camera lens to get into wildlife photography. Pretty happy with the results so far!
first real shift at the new job was great! my lyft driver home was an old friend I hadn’t seen in a WHILE. today rocks!
The how: I used my Sony A7iii with an 85 mm lens at f/2.8 and 2000 ISO. I divided the sky into 9 sections and shot each section with ten 30" exposures and stacked them, then stitched the 9 sections together. This brought out detail and color and made for a single, huge photo. 98 photos in one!
TY. In a dark sky that lens does amazing work. As it is to capture Scorpio it needs to be close to the dawn at this tie of the year. Below is an example of a dark sky wide open aperture shot to Orion to the Pleiades.
Captured January 5 with a Sony a6000 and 17mm f/1.4 lens for 30 seconds.
Looking at picking up a new Nikon lens somewhere in the 20mm range.
Anyone have any feedback, suggestions, etc?

This is one of my Wildlife Photography kits; A nikon D7200 crop camera and an 80-400mm lens. My other kit is smaller and lighter with faster AF and more zoom but that's at Mom's house right now. But this kit should still be more the sufficient for tonight. Hopefully atleast one of em is there today.
My new Boba arrived earlier. Looks great with Din and the boy.
Incredible Zodiac was shot at 1080P in 2006, with all the dark scenes and looks that great.
Had my first performance review in the new job and it was basically "you're doing great and everyone loves you" so that was nice
