Who was in charge of telling me Scott Bakula is in a musical?

I defer all Scott Bakula questions to @jenniferrnn.bsky.social
Fair.
I stay silent on all matters Scott Bakula
I wish Scott Bakula would stay silent on all matters Scott Bakula.
Thirteen-year-old me would be so disappointed in how douchey all her wall posters ended up being. Only Michael J. Fox remains undouchey basically.
Somehow I ran across this Macy's Day Parade footage last year and was like THE. WHAT?
Found this one tonight, trying to find that one again.
The parade stuff does not surprise me, because they just as often would stick a TV show person with a high school group. I say, as a person whose high school chorus sang with a TV person in the parade. But yeah, probably should have suspected he started in musicals before TV.
As I recall, it was actually because of his Broadway show, like they still do today. My brain stuttered and fell over the Broadway part because it was so unexpected (by my brain) at the time.
Makes sense.
p.s. SUPER COOL YOU WERE IN THE PARADE. I've never even seen it in person.
That was the only time I was there in person, and it was cold! Definitely makes watching it at home seem decadent. I also now judge any groups that don't have a good winter wear plan for their group. Because of the performances at the end there's a lot of stopping along the route.
In the old days (whenever that was) groups would perform a little along the way while they were waiting. But apparently NBC decided that they should only perform in front of Macy’s.
I mean, I am sure things have changed since I did it. But there was performing along the way, but having a multi-minute stationary performance creates a logjam. So there was some waiting mid-parade.
I think they used to do more performing along the way, especially at Columbus Circle. That had to be better than just standing around in the cold.
I used to see it in person, once upon a time. But that meant I didn’t see it on TV, and didn’t see the Broadway numbers. I can’t imagine standing for two hours in the cold these days. At least it wasn’t super crowded back then.
It helps that a lot of the Broadway stuff ends up on You Tube, but yeah, I like watching while seated and warm.
Now that it’s available online, I don’t mind. But we didn’t have internet, or even vcrs, when I was a kid. We weren’t near Macy’s, just went out to watch the parade.
Oh, hell, I just realized I was thinking Scott Baio.
I sincerely apologize for maligning Scott Bakula, who--to all my knowledge--is a normal person and not evil.
*headslap*
Sorry, my brain is flakey on a good day, and good brain days are somewhat rare.
Oh good, I was just working up the courage to ask you what in the *bleep* Bakula did.
So many Scotts.
Addams. Baio. Brown. The odds are not in the Scotts' favor.
I find his acting a little wooden but yeah, I'm not aware of any instances of Scott Bakula being a douche.
I think nearly everyone with posters in my "Teen Beat," with very few exceptions, turned out to be horrible. I had their pictures up on my wall with that tacky gum stuff because that's what I thought I was supposed to do, and it was like I cursed them with my rather lukewarm adoration.
It's probably just as well that Scott Bakula never made the wall. Many of the late 80s/early 90s heartthrobs became weirdos...and conservative weirdos at that.
I feel genuinely guilty for maligning the man actually. I'd go delete my comment but it seems to have spawned far more interesting conversations. I'll just go write lines.
"I must not accuse Scott Bakula of being a douche."

"I must not...
Wow! I was worried there for a minute as I wasn't aware of any negative Scott Bakula news. I just knew he wasn't my favorite actor . . . . . . and then got accosted for such sentiments online many moons ago. But this conversation is hilarious.
Yeaaaah. My fuzzy brain took us all on a rollercoaster and you were peripherally along for the ride. Weeeeeee?
I love that this conversation is on my timeline
I vaguely remember something about his musical background, but I can’t remember where I heard it. I don’t think I saw the shows he was in.
My memory seems very vague these days.
And I probably didn’t know who he was back then. I probably did see the announcement about the recent show, but things keep falling out of my brain.
BTW, Grant Gustin, who played The Flash on the CW, is now in a musical on Broadway.
That I did know. I was also part of the Flash needs a musical episode contingent, which we did get. (I firmly believe more people should make up reasons for Jesse L. Martin to sing.)
There are actors who may know how to sing, but we don’t know until they showcase them. Then there are the actors who were on Broadway, so it’s not as if they don’t have fans. So, I have to agree with you. And Victor Garber was on the show, too.
Flash was particularly stacked with people who had sung on camera before. I still love that Super Friend song Rachel Bloom and Tom Root wrote for that episode.
She was name searching for Scott Bakula and was so offended by what I said she had to tell me "you couldn't hope to be so admired." As Scott Bakula

Thinking about Scott Bakula in Enterprise led me to thinking about him Clive Barker’s LORD OF ILLUSIONS, my platonic ideal for being extremely horny for Scott Bakula.
