coffee on the balcony, new Waxahatchee record on headphones
“Butker goes wide, wide right” is a brilliant callback — somewhere Scott Norwood just twitched uncomfortably and wondered why
Still pissed off that Florida has hockey teams, that shit ain’t right
I have been trying for ages to get three to five adults to sit down for three hours a week consistently and play Blades in the Dark with me and it is a task more difficult than room-temperature nuclear fusion, I feel your pain
Also wanna play Blades, hmu
Prepping for a session of Blades in the Dark that is almost certainly going to involve a heated theological debate concerning whether demons in The Shattered Isles function more like psychopomps or arcane syphonophores
Playing make-believe with grown-ups is fun
Scooped the litter box, started laundry, wept that there were no more worlds to conquer
Beer & wings to start the weekend. My life is too good, something terrible must be about to happen
We do mail order! Shipping is from the island is $$$$$$$ tho
One of the cafes to which I deliver has been closed all week because The Last of Us S2 is filming out front.
Neato!
ha, little do you know I kept the crock pot out of sheer spite
Thanks! It really did. I had A&W, I sat in the sunshine, I played in an online ttrpg session in which we accomplished absolutely nothing game-wise but had fun anyway, and I took a nap. Banner day! I hope yours went well, too!
Is there? Figures. That was too good to have not been taken already
Werewolf DJ called Loop Guru
That one’s free, you’re welcome
Double buddy burger, add cheddar & pickles. Chicken buddy burger as a little side snacky. Poutine. And a frosty root beer! Can’t wait.
The Sixties ended when The Stooges released Fun House. The 70s ended when Wire released Pink Flag. The 80s ended when Nirvana released Nevermind.
The 90s have never ended, we’re now stuck with Slipknot on a loop forever
Already excited by the prospect of treating myself to lunch at A&W
it’s astonishing how little it takes to make me happy, but how much of that little consists of cheeseburgers
George is a neutral good monk, Way of the Shadow. Uses dex to stack bonuses to unarmed strike, crazy high stealth, low carrying capacity, mostly useless outside of melee combat
I agree. I have never watched a single one of the Rocky movies.
Today in Blades in the Dark, our cultists avoided prison by charming a serpent, stole a ghost, pissed off a group of smugglers, and watched in delight as their cadre of zealous followers doubled and then in despair as it immediately shrank again. The dice giveth, the dice taketh away.
Also that thing where you fly by windmilling your arms, provided that your flowing robes are sufficiently voluminous
Roger Corman was taken from us on the same night that we were attacked by the sun
coincidence?
I think not
That’s a level of calculated whimsically to which I can only aspire
Goddammit I wish I could finish a single coherent thought without a typo in it fuck me
A cool thing about having a cat is that moment that sometimes just after you pick them up and put them on your lap — when they shift their weight in that subtle yet definitive way that lets you know that sitting on your lap is now their idea instead of your idea. That’s pretty cool
Have you tried sitting down in the middle of the sidewalk and refusing to move? They nailed that bit of cat gameplay.
who doesn’t love fruit tarts, tho
people who are wrong, that’s who
Have I abandoned the main goal of the game in order to search for hats?
I HAVE INDEED
Traversal is somewhat frustrating — the cat can’t jump as high as I think a cat should be able to. And the cat can’t climb straight up, but has no problem getting down, which is an immersion-breaking level of utterly un-catlike behavior. But on the whole it’s a couple hours of cute casual fun!
I run a couple of tabletop RPGs and sometimes need things like a fancy train dining car menu or a bill of fare from a medieval tavern — this is PERFECT. Thanks for the rec!
I have to unload the dishwasher before I can make breakfast
guess I’ll just sit here and starve
