I would like the church and its supporters to stop enabling the abuse of children and to stop further abusing them by denying actual justice.
Acting as if people who are pointing that out are doing something wrong or rude? Not sure what the word for that is but nothing positive.
I am informed that’s why I know about it what I don’t know is why anyone can believe anything such an institution says about anything. If they lie about that well what good can they be?
I am not doing that, what I am doing is noting the contraction if not hypocrisy on how the church says one thing yet does the literal opposite in actions.
You don’t seem to want to understand that point, why is that?
I get that the church teaches and preaches penance what I don't get is why they don't practice it.
Covering up, enabling child abuse for decades as a stand operating procedure is not that. Quite the opposite.
It's weird that you're getting angry at me for pointing that out.
They keep doing the wrong thing, suggests that they have no fear of any judgment, earthly or otherwise.
They protect child abusers, they get caught protecting child abusers, they don't change that behavior.
Why do they do that if they think there's repercussions that they cannot escape?
He was sentenced to five years and eight months in prison after pleading guilty to three charges including theft and sharing with members of the press documents classified as secret.
apnews.comAnd I think the Vatican does all that stuff because the religion teaches that as long as you believe in Jesus and confess your sins etc. it doesn't matter how many children you enable the abuse of, your war crimes, etc. your afterlife, the only thing that really matters, is secure.
I am not sure if child abuse is a "practice" and I'm equally unsure if demanding the church stop enabling child abuse and letting abusers escape justice is "criticism".
I think they do it because protecting the Vatican's fortune and reputation is the priority, not doing the right thing.
And all it took was Republicans whipping up a fascist mob to try and lynch the other party!
I always wonder New York Times, when you do this, do you giggle in delight as you fill the zone with more bullshit or is it pure just a job?
And yet they continue to do the wrong thing for decades now!
Why do you think they do that?
That's good but we're not talking about and you not hurting children, we're talking about those that literally did and how the vatican covered it up and continues to do so to this very day.
Are they right to do that?
So that's covering up and enabling child abuse is bad or is a good thing to do?
You're trying to talk about other stuff because I guess you can't / won't answer that.
Would it shock you to learn that for most people that's a really easy question to answer?
I mean...
The law firm that drew up the report, which faulted the current archbishop in two cases, said Benedict strongly denied any wrongdoing.
www.nbcnews.com
They did move them around en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parish_...
Where they hurt more children.
Is this all news to you?
So you can't explain why protecting child abusers is the right thing to do.
So maybe that's a clue about how it's not the right thing to do?
I mean imagine how soulless one would have to be to do this sort of thing!
A man who says he was among 200 boys allegedly molested by a Wisconsin priest says the Vatican's responses make him feel like he did as a kid, when no one would listen to him.
www.nbcnews.comAgain quite right, the Church will even attack the victims of their abuse rather than confess the sins and make wrongs right:
Francis said there was no evidence a Chilean bishop had covered up another priest's actions.
www.bbc.com
Exactly, if the Vatican, the pope, all of them actually believed in confession, redemption and they rest they'd have fully cooperated with the police and victims but instead they hire lawyers and PR firms and do all they can to dodge accountability.
The hypocrisy is as stark as it is obvious.
Does the church upon discovering one of their staff has been abusing children call the police and fully cooperate with the investigation and do all they can to protect children?
They do not, they lawyer-up, they "laicized".
And you think that's the right thing to do? Can you explain why?
Where is the confession and redemption here? Do they every apply that doctorine to these priests or do they ALWAYS lawyer-up to protect... well what? Money? Reputation? You tell me, what's going on here?
A Dedham judge deemed the 93-year-old former Cardinal Theodore McCarrick incompetent to stand trial.
www.wgbh.orgI mean do these stories that never stop coming out for decades now, none of that gives you any pause for thought?
A lawsuit filed by an Oxnard man seeks to force the Vatican to release the names of priests accused of sex abuse.
www.vcstar.comLike how do handle the cognitive dissonance?
After Libero Milone and Ferruccio Panicco filed a lawsuit Nov. 4 against the Holy See, the Vatican responded by rejecting without explanation a distinguished jurist they had chosen as their attorney.
www.ncregister.comYes, priests are well know for not doing anything that would offend.
A $10 million lawsuit has been filed against Holy See and the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston and its Cardinal, Daniel N. DiNardo, on behalf of the parents of a child they say was sexually abused by ...

Just like how the Vatican no longer protects child abusers and got the whole bank scandal(s) under control.
So many income streams, so many billions made, because that's what Jesus told Peter to do with his church, yeah? Make sure it has a bank and an army of lawyers to hide its sins.
Elephantmen, the whole series, a dystopian near-future film noire Blade Runner but with funny animals who aren't so funny, some really horrific body and psychological horror, politics, romance, world-building, it really has it all including a giant talking hippopotamus who dresses like Sam Spade.
She is one of the reasons why I'm glad YouTube exists, absolutely born to the medium.
Meaning if Trump wins he’ll proudly declare he voted for him and if Trump loses he’ll let everyone know how hard he voted against him.
Got to keep the options open!
Robert Gates says "I'm not even going to begin to go there" about voting for Trump in 2024 - CBS News
Former Defense Secretary Robert Gates, who is currently the chancellor at William and Mary College, tells "Face the Nation" that "I'm not even going to begin to go there" about voting for former President Donald Trump in 2024, who he has written has "disdain for allies, fondness for authoritarian leaders, erratic behavior undermined his credibility."
www.cbsnews.comAnd I loved in the movie the way they hit that when Magneto says "You must be Wolverine. That remarkable metal doesn't run through your entire body, does it?".
I loved that cover because it was like "Oh yeah! Wolverine, full of metal, that's going to be a problem!"
I think there might be some cases in which at one point giving money, land, children to the church to get favor with god was a thing.
Of course now a days they have other income streams so perhaps not so much:
The Vatican says a key charitable fund, Peter's Pence, doubled its income in the last year to 107 million euros.
apnews.comOkay getting better at Homeworld 3 but now I'm at the most tedious bit of RTS play; mapping keys to key-pad peripheral device for maximum efficiency in game play so...
I hate it when I have a zor zibbit, have to go see the doctor for a shot sometimes even!
He told lies that got over a MILLION people killed, he's a war criminal.
Blair is a monster, beyond bad person.
So to him, and others, the truth is immaterial and he's found a religion where he only has to tell the truth one time to one person and all is forgiven!
Like I said, good for Tony!
Like if Tony is sincere in all of that, he does all the rituals, believes in his heart of hearts he has sinned and has confessed and done whatever penance the church told him to do (like donations to the church is usually one, yeah?) he's saved.
That is how is works.
Yes one honestly can, that's the whole selling point! I am the way and the light, the truth, my father has many rooms in his mansion, none can get to heaven save through me. You confess your sins, accept Jesus as savior, embrace his sacrifice on the cross and you are saved no matter what you did!
Sure, that's not what he did so immaterial.
What he did do was decide he was Catholic shortly after the terrible results of his monsters crimes became undeniable.
So he confesses his sins, does it all proper, and now can sleep at night and has to do nothing else about it.
Convenient huh?
Sure, if Tony's faking it then again it all gets taken care of in the afterlife and he's punished there.
But if he's all sincere about it, well, same deal, yeah? Only he gets a much nicer afterlife.
Again, I set all that aside and ask what value, what good does that do for anyone here and now?
Last time I checked I was on a list for being a Hamas supporter and on another list for being an Israeli supporter so I am a bit confused.
Apparently.
The dog on the right is giving the exact same look as my accountant when I explain my business expenses to them.
Whereas I'm all Grandpa Simpsons about it and yell at the screen YOU'RE NOT TOM BAKER!!!!
