I dropped
a part-slurped cup of tea.
Later
some boiled potato
and two grapes.
Dexterity distracted
by a desire
to drop into our discussion
two words:
I quit.
Let’s switch the
disappointment
for possibility.
And a cleaner kitchen floor.

Very clever cartoon (not even described as a comic so why pick on that label?)
Easter hunt for pumpkins in my overgrown patch (all from compost volunteers) produced these beauties. Looking forward to roasts!
Another incredible report from Ian Urbina and Outlaw Ocean, this time on human rights abuse, banned antibiotic use and lies about certification claims in India's shrimp sector. Where are your shrimp/prawns from? #slaveryshrimp #pukeyprawns www.theoutlawocean.com/investigatio...
Slavery seafood breaks my heart 💔 - this time Indian farmed shrimp/prawns 🦐. Even worse when it claims to be eco-certified. Where's your seafood from? #SlaveryShrimp

2-4. I recently fled a forest haunted by some very determined leeches. It messed with my meditative mood.
It’s early autumn in Sydney, when we are supposed to start planting bulbs for spring. These jonquils are now flowering in my garden…
I'm up for that. Return me to the soil and teach someone something at the same time.
I LOVE this! There may be horror on every mainstream media website, telling us people suck, but 858 good humans are waiting to ring a doorbell for fishes. When there are enough fishes waiting, someone will open a boat lock in Utrecht so they can continue their spawning migration upstream. 💙🐟
Soms moeten vissen lang wachten bij de Weerdsluis, omdat de sluisdeuren in het voorjaar niet vaak open gaan. Daar hebben we iets op bedacht.
visdeurbel.nlWe must address animal welfare in seafood. And traceability & transparency. Some great quotes from M&S, a leading retailer on #seafood #sustainability: “If we can’t put on a pack where a fish has come from, then we need to be asking ourselves some big questions.” #IUUimports #slaverysquid
According to Marks and Spencer, consumers deserve to know where there food is coming from and if it is being treated humanely.
www.seafoodsource.comI specifically chose red shears because I could never see where I left my old green ones! I love the idea of decorating tools.
Massive cephalopod fan. Media auto-transcripts of some recent radio interviews misnamed me as Octa Catorey and I love it! 🐙🦑
I howled when he died. I imagined him walking hand in hand with Tiffany & Granny across the sand towards Disc world, with Death, Vimes and Carrot escorting them, and that made me feel better.
I love the sliding scale pins! Right now, Distraction scale 10.
It costs 0$ to Repost a Black disabled queer small business! It could lead to my next sale.
I sell pins, stickers, compression gloves, artist gloves, binders, hip braces, wrist braces, compression socks & more!

Yes! It makes it tough to be a risk taker or innovator especially. And for people to change their minds about an issue. I had a bunch of opinions and ideas in my early 20s that I shudder at now, but luckily not captured forever by media.
First Dog on the extremely weird shit that lives in our oceans. 💙🐡🦑
Before climate change gets them we can have fun going bonkers at the extremely weird shit that lives under the ocean

Sleep was resting on a rock
in the garden this morning.
I pursued it with a rake
but it slipped into the pond.
I spied it later
dozing with dragon flies.
And later still
its beak wing-hidden
high upon a branch.
My net caught only air.
And so now I wake-walk
and daydream
of night dreams.

Love this art. New fan!
More evidence from the Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF) showing why we urgently need traceability & transparency in seafood, & strong laws in importing countries that close the market to products of illegal fishing & human rights abuse. #IUUfishing #slaveryseafood #sustainableseafood
Every day vulnerable people are stripped of their rights, freedom and identity. They are victims of the environmental destruction being inflicted on our shared planet.
ejfoundation.org4. I haven't slept a solid 8 hours without waking up once in years (thanks menopause) & thanks to all the rain my mad pumpkin vines & an invasive morning glory vine are threatening to wrap up my home like Sleeping Beauty's castle. I need to invest in a sword as I hold no hopes for Prince Charming.
Another great Honest Government Ad. More chilling than funny to he honest. The first person to be jailed for war crimes in Australia? The journo that revealed this.

youtu.beThe 3rd in Ian Urbina's New Yorker series investigating human rights abuse in China's seafood production. This one exposes North Koreans being sent to work in Chinese factories, with links to major global seafood brands. No point sending auditors to these factories if the factories are forewarned!
Workers sent from the country to Chinese factories describe enduring beatings and sexual abuse, having their wages taken by the state, and being told that if they try to escape they will be “killed wi...

In my many years of snorkeling in some very cool places around the world, I've never managed to see my beloved cephalopods. Then a few weekends ago, while helping a friend do a ray survey in Camp Cove, Sydney Harbour, she found me a shy octopus and a couple of cuttlefish. So sweet!
🦑🐙💙
Especially when they launch themselves off your back lawn in the dark when you've cycled in at night and scare the shite out of you. 🦉

Earth Restorer's Guide to Permaculture equips readers with the tools, and 40 years of evidence-based practice, to restore our global ecosystems.
store.holmgren.com.auWe can & must apply permaculture practices to how we use the sea. Permie guru Rosemary Morrow’s new 'Earth Restorer’s Guide to Permaculture' has a chapter on the sea. I had a long chat with Rowe about this when she was writing this update to her “Earth User's Guide..." (book link in comments) 🦑🌱
As we go from fishing to fish farming, we should borrow restorative approaches from permaculture.
