Thank you for this. I'm recovering from a two year hiatus myself from burnout. Trying to do things for myself for once as well. "do what you love and never work a day in your life" is such flawed advice that I cannot agree with. When I tried making money with art, it turned into something I hated.
Lol wait... I see that it's a close up in one of the images 🤦♂️
This is impressive fingerwork... And you did both in less than 6 hours? Wow
I hate when I am halfway through making something and hit a wall... And my brain goes "you should just scrap this whole thing. Take it apart and forget about it entirely".
I don't understand why strangers feel the need to leave negative comments in the first place. It's so much easier to say nothing at all.
I'm still learning how to use this place... Thanks for posting about this. I had no idea we could even do this.
I'm a mail carrier... I hope my customers think I'm a good one.
Cleaned out the garage a bit today. Brought out the shop vac and kind of committed spider genocide...
Damn dude... That's terrible. I know you aren't going into details about what happened, and I have seen enough bs myself... Any step discipline followed or right to removal? I hope it gets resolved and you can go back, bit it won't be easy working for the same folks after that.
What happened to make you have that burden? How's the weather been down there BTW? Radar looked nasty for LA
Always wanted to make a comic but I have no clue how to do a layout. This is looking good to me!
I like these characters! Nicely done! It's great to try and go back to our roots sometimes... Even if it's due to technical issues.
Braid is awesome and I love the teeth! Seems like a weird thing to focus on, maybe... But I love when the line between top and bottom teeth disappears in a grin like that. Makes a really cool expression.
Lately it's reminded me why I am always such a pessimist. The moment I get an inkling of hope or positivity, the world smacks me back down saying "stop that shit".
I can so relate to this thought process. I have stopped drawing for nearly two years due to thinking like this. I couldn't make something that felt like perfection so I made nothing at all. I want to draw again but am so out of practice now that I need to relearn how to do it.
Finding it exhausting hating my job as much as I do... And being frustrated about how bad my bosses treat me and my coworkers. So much so that I am entering a phase where I don't care about this whole job at all...
@crowneprince.bsky.social just watched your video about not including the date with a signature on your art... Honestly it's not something I ever thought about but your reasons make sense. Thanks for the video!
Good choice on the Pixel 8 Pro though... Nice pick, Duncan...
I know his full name, last 4 of a credit card, complete address... And a quick Google showed me when he bought his house, for how much, and 4 contact phone numbers. Could be a bad thing if I wasn't a good person.
Someone set up a t-mobile account and bought 5 new phones... And I guess the rep typed in the wrong email and put mine in there instead. Now I keep getting updates on his order and when it's shipping... I contacted t-mobile TWICE to correct this and I still am getting updates to this man's account.
Using actual pencil and sketchbook feels so foreign after doing digital for a long time.
Monetizing a social media presence has really been a strange process of thinking that I will never understand. It seems to make people end up posting what they will think is popular instead of what they really think or feel... Nothing feels genuine anymore.
I know this is from two months ago, but I have to say the braid work is awesome! I have saved this image for future reference. Thanks for sharing this!
I feel the same way but I am sure that I am just out of practice. As fellow artist, I am aware that we are very hard in ourselves. I'm sure that your art is just fine. Keep at it! This message is also for myself...
Waiting while my wife gets her hair done... Here's a bumblebee tuna

The phrase "do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life" sucks . I had a brief time of getting paid to do art and it was a time that made me stop doing art altogether. Didn't really enjoy making my art into a job. I have a job and don't like it. I don't know if we're supposed to.
It's definitely made me feel like getting back into drawing! I haven't drawn in a long time
I prefer folks share their own stuff VS fan work, personally. No shade against fan stuff but I really appreciate what the artist brain can come up with. I've also found this website to be better for finding artists than the other place too.
Lol I see the same thing and most of the accounts I blocked are bitcoin bros
Just once, I'd like to see a character in a movie cough or sneeze and it not be foreshadowing that they are getting sick or dying. People get allergies dammit
I fell at work way back in January and landed on my ribs... And it's only this week that I started to notice that I don't feel constant pain at all times of the day. Rib injuries apparently take a long time to heal.
Thank you. I kind of needed to hear this sort of thing lately
Wife and I just finished Rebel Moon Part Two... And it's as good as the first one. Lots of weirdly timed slowmo, so many shots looking into blaring sunlight, many lasers, predictable meh story. Pretty much what we expected.
I'm sure it will still be interesting for folks to see... I know I just like watching my own time lapses. I don't share them anywhere lol
@bsky.app any chance that someone is working on the ability to view images in portrait or landscape depending on the orientation of your device? I don't code so I don't know about the complexities that arise with this. Just curious...
I did this with House MD... And still to this day have not seen the series finale.
While she has many great writing credits and Whose Line improv stuff, my favorite of hers is the Get Played podcast... Congrats on this gig, Heather. Looking forward to hearing of more of your success!
Just read that @heathercampbell.bsky.social is writing the live action adaptation of One Punch Man and could not be more happy to see that. The article wanted us to be more excited about Harmon but I think Heather will bring more what I would want to see in the adaptation kotaku.com/one-punch-ma...
Dan Harmon will work alongside Heather Anne Campbell on the Sony Pictures project
kotaku.comOnly two episodes into the #fallout show on Amazon and I gotta say, so far it is all that I was hoping for...
Out of the way, clouds! You're blocking the blocking of the sun!
