They managed to hire a lighting tech for the epilogue scene. First time in 6 hours I’ve been able to understand fully what I’m looking at.
Watching Jana: Marked For Life on iPlayer which seems to be Scandinoir with a bit of a twist. Seems to be filmed with a 3 watt light bulb though
That’s a really nice beer. Better than any of that Madri crap. Really nice and crisp.
To be fair to Rishi, that’s still a better use of your money than - ooh for example - Rishi writing off £12bn in COVID fraud.
For all the fear mongering of Tory collapse and being consumed by Farage, I’m guessing Reform will end up with 2 MPs, Tories will end up with about 100 MPs.
Even later with Hey Bulldog. That's a mammoth riff.
Paperback Writer is perfect. Its the culmination of the moptop years in one final hurrah, but also points to the future.
The next “violent left-wing mob” should actually have that as placards.
Thanks for the airplay last night, Steve Lamacq! Last record of the show here at BBC Sounds: www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...
Lammo has The Mysterines in Session and a What's The Story from The Sex Pistols.

Also the “my laughter is now so sugar or adrenaline fuelled its tipped over into mania and there will be tears in 3 minutes”.
Its an astonishing article for so many reasons.
Labour have the begging bowls out too, cos they’ve spent millions pating legal bills after attacking party members who claimed Starmer and co. had sabotaged Corbyn. The shady donors have gone to Reform or just stopped paying.
That’ll win the votes back.
My commiserations! I must confess I’ve not followed rugby league for years, and when I did Wigan was my team (we are talking about the pre-Sky days here!)
Deleted scene of them having a king size Twix and a grab bag of pickled onion Monster Munch.
I think frequent toilet breaks might also have been required.
Maybe they could ask Michelle Mone for a loan of a few million?
I’ve been wanting this moment for over 30 years and I am savouring it like a fine Havana cigar, or whatever it is you’re meant to savour.
20,000 bikers joined the convoy to Barrow-in-Furness to remember Dave Myers.
Twenty thousand.
That’s love, for a lovely guy.
And deciding to make it a Presidential style election and skipping home from Normandy early and missing a photo op with the Presidents of the world.
For an election he set the date of giving him the edge for planning and strategy.
Bond doesn’t need the briefing with M, but the audience does. If only to complete the check list to differentiate one film from another: “Right, Bond, go to [exotic location] and stop [insert villain’s name here] who is interfering with [vague MacGuffin]”
I think Dunkirk works as well because its principally about the sheer terror of the moment, and the three converging timelines is a masterfully executed technical exercise. The rest I can leave.
Oh agreed, its a film that spends at least 90 minutes explaining, re-explaining and changing the rules to justify it’s final action scene. Odd that it was compared to Bond when they literally start with M saying “this chap is a bad guy, go and kill him”.
Now I think about it for a nanosecond.
Although Inception is probably the better example of an ambiguous ending that isn’t ambiguous at all.
We watched the Rafe Spall drama Denmark recently, and noticed a lot of IMDB user reviews stating that it was “unfinished” because they didn’t know whether he got with the girl or not. But that wasn’t the journey he was on, he started as an aimless, hopeless man and found direction and hope.
The sheer essence of Sam Vimes is not only that he knows all coppers are bastards, he knows that he’s the biggest bastard of them all. But he tries the hardest not to be that bastard. Night Watch is about him fighting against that bastard rage to bring Carcer to justice instead of just killing him.
Farage is just going to steamroller over the debate, and somehow the other representatives don’t seem to be allowed, such is his allure, to call him a lying, grifting fascist entirely motivated by greed and zero interest in serving the public good.
Only just made the mental link between D Day remembrances and the reintroduction of National Service.
“Hey parents! Vote for us and we’ll conscript your child into the army, and then reluctantly turn up and bugger off early any commemorations after we get them killed.”
Keeping my news feed refreshed in case Rishi Sunak decides a vote winning move is to wipe his arse on the Diana memorial.
Its another corker from @flcartographer.bsky.social. Get on it.

Genuine question - how much of this campaign is the personal choice of Sunak, and how much is through advisors? In other words, is the problem that Sunak can’t envisage anyone that isn’t him, or is it a wider Tory failure of empathy?
I have. Its incredibly useful to do user testing. It is however, slow and expensive.
As demonstrated here: skingraftrecords.bandcamp.com/track/free-g...
from the album L.M.N.O.P.
skingraftrecords.bandcamp.comThe Commons is tiny (I've been in) and not big enough for 650 MPs anyway. But if you've got nearly 500 on one side... no idea!
One of the single loudest things I've ever heard in one of the tiniest venues I've ever played.
The bass literally shook the cable out of the computer. @warringtonruncorn.bsky.social will tell ya!
Holy crap.
I wouldn’t say it was fantastic, but it was better than most post-Endgame Marvel movies, with fun characters and a clever scene where the leads swap positions. But it felt rushed and unfinished.
