TODAY, Éirígí South Dublin activist, Darragh Kilty, is running the Stockholm Marathon - A FULL 42 KILOMETRES - in aid of the Palestinian Red Crescent.
Only days ago, two paramedics from the Palestinian Red Crescent were murdered when the forces of Apartheid Israel targeted their ambulance which was en-route to evacuate and assist the dead and wounded in the Tel al-Sultan neighbourhood in Rafah, Gaza. #GazaGenocide
Last year, as part of our On the Shoulders series, we republished the founding objectives and principals of the Mayo Land League as written by Michael Davitt and first published in the Freeman’s Journal in its report on the meeting. 👇

Today, 30th May, marks the anniversary of the death of Michael Davitt in
1906. Davitt, a member of the Irish Republican Brotherhood, was released

On this day in 1906, the great Michael Davitt died. #ForANewRepublic
A Republican revolutionary, Davitt saw the potential of mass movements to advance the Republican struggle.
Apartheid Israel is a genocidal state that must be boycotted, isolated and made to pay for the unspeakable crimes it has committed and continues to commit against the heroic people of Palestine.
No ifs. No buts. No excuses. #BoycottIsrael
What is happening right now in Rafah is not a new departure, it is simply a continuation of the barbarity Apartheid Israel has been inflicting on the Palestinian people for decades.
The burning to death of dozens of Palestinian men, women and CHILDREN by the forces of Apartheid Israel in recent days was not a mistake, it was not an accident - it was DELIBERATE! #AllEyesOnRafah | #GazaGenocide

Éirígí are totally against any part of Ireland being used to assist US imperialism and their allies, Apartheid Israel in particular. #ForANewRepublic | #FreePalestine🇵🇸
As anti-imperialists, Éirígí are staunchly opposed to the use of Shannon Airport by the US military. The airport has effectively been used as forward operating base for the US military since 2002.
The Dublin government are disgracefully still allowing the United States to use Shannon Airport as a stop off point on their way to assist Apartheid Israel in their ongoing genocide against the people of Gaza. #USMilitaryOutOfShannon
Éirígí activists in Munster joined a demonstration in Charleville, County Cork recently held in solidarity with the people of Palestine. #GazaGenocide
Our ‘US MILITARY OUT OF SHANNON NOW!’ banner made an appearance at the protest.

Last Saturday, the GAA published the covers of the match programmes for the games taking place that weekend.
It was not something that would usually spark any comment, but within minutes social media was awash with consternation, but why?
Those words became the slogan of the Yugoslav Partisan resistance movement which would liberate the country from fascism in 1945. #AlwaysAntiFascist | #ForANewRepublic
Before he was hanged, with the noose around his neck, Filipović put his hands into the air and shouted,
"Smrt fašizmu, sloboda narodu!" - “Death to fascism, freedom to the people!"
Anti-fascist Yugoslav partisan Stjepan Filipović, was murdered by the Nazis on this day in 1942. #StjepanFilipović | #SmrtFašizmu
Filipović, then 26-years-old, was a commander in the 1941 Partisan Uprising against the Nazi occupation and their collaborators.

On the 2nd of May in 1921, the East Limerick ASU of the IRA came across a British military convoy and engaged them in a firefight.

O’Hara died on the same day as McCreesh, passing away just hours after his comrade did. #ForANewRepublic | #RememberTheTen
O’Hara joined the blanket protest immediately upon entering prison, and was the first INLA Volunteer to join the hunger strike.
Patsy O’Hara joined the IRSP in 1975 and became active with the INLA shortly after, remaining active despite several arrests and detentions. However, he was eventually captured by the British and in 1980 he was sentenced to eight years imprisonment for daring to fight for Irish freedom.
Volunteer Raymond McCreesh died on the morning of the 21st of May 1981, after 61 days on hunger strike.
McCreesh joined the blanket protest immediately upon entering prison - consistently retaining a principled stance in absolute rejection of the criminalisation of the fight for Irish freedom.
A young Raymond McCreesh joined the armed struggle in 1973 when he became active with the IRA. McCreesh avoided attention from the British by maintaining a low public profile, but was captured during an operation in mid-1976.
Both men began their fast on the 22nd of March 1981, joining Bobby Sands and Francis Hughes on hunger strike.
23-year-old Patsy O’Hara, a Volunteer with the Irish National Liberation Army from Derry, began his hunger strike on the same day as his comrade Raymond McCreesh, an Irish Republican Army Volunteer from South Armagh.
On this day 43-years-ago, Volunteers Raymond McCreesh and Patsy O’Hara died on hunger strike. #HungerStrike1981
