I have no idea what this is but I'm doing to drink it... and I will do it live on stream in just a few minutes at

Yes exactly - one of those oddball things where the something awful lowtax is probably more famous than the original guy (at least to me). I remembered there was some weird story with him but couldn't remember the details
Iirc he got the name from some weird local politician who had his middle name legally changed to "low tax"
It is a reference to the dearly departed Rich "Lowtax" Kyanka
You can't even do Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals any more....
Because of wokeness
Saw a cybertruck for the SECOND time today and actually I take back my earlier comments, it was pretty cool!
Jk that shit sucks lmao
Whoa that's cool, I play mostly smaller indie stuff on mine and I always forget it's actually pretty capable for big time games like this
I swear I'm not trying to be "heh remember everyone I have a phd smugsmugsmugsmug" but this really rings true
PhDing feels vaguely feudal. I’ve heard people rattle off their academic lineages and these come with them various feuds and allegiances. If my advisor told me to kill a man, I’d probably do it.
Kidnap MY family??? Enjoy being shittily edited into a movie poster about my balls
Taken Fredo edition:
I will find you, and I will post skeets making fun of you.
the Taken franchise is fascinating to me cuz it's a reactionary revenge fantasy of post-9/11 xenophobia writ in the most broad, explicit terms possible
Also me tonight
Tfw you're charging forward for an easy night of beating up teenage protestors and your balls fuckin explode
Would you rather get 1.5 million or have the power to make cops' balls explode??
Just shoveling the discourse into my mouth like a pig eating slop
This reads like one of my "would you rather" polls on X: The Everything App™
A protester whose testicle exploded when an LAPD officer shot him with a hard-foam projectile has received a $1.5 million settlement from the city, his attorneys announced
A protester whose testicle exploded when an LAPD officer shot him with a hard-foam projectile during a street demonstration in 2020 has received a $1.5-million settlement from the city.
www.latimes.comWell it's no worries, you can still definitely play this on consoles it will just be a little more cumbersome
Anyway thank you for tuning into Fredo's gamerants please subscribe to my twitch for more content like this at twitch.tv/fredofabrucci
This is me being hopeful of course, I can just as easily imagine a future where everything is gatcha cellphone game bullshit and gaming is just a fucking absolute nightmare but this is the one thing I'm going to allow myself to be a little bit optimistic about
I don't know what the future holds but I can easily imagine a situation where the ubisofts of the world are doing more games like this, with the comparatively more rare AAA "tentpole" release. The resources required for those titles are so wild now that flops are just too high risk
If I had to take a guess, I have to imagine big publishers are going to lean more in this direction over time, as these games are smaller risks individually and small to mid size developers are proving time and time again that you can be incredibly successful without AAA production values
and we're now seeing boutique labels for "indie style" AA games coming out of the big publishing houses, like Ubisoft and EA originals with Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and Tales of Kenzera, respectively
One interesting thing I've noticed is the rapid ascent of more AA games, and I have been noticing larger publishers trying to get a slice of that pie. Thinking back to the last few years and breakout megahits like hades, dead cells, balatro, vampire survivors, etc
Obviously the industry badly needs some change as the current crop of CEO types running things are like the worst possible ghouls working their absolute hardest to ruin things for everyone, and I do think eventually we're going to see those types of people run out of the industry (very optimistic)
Little gamerant here: I find it pretty interesting how the discourse around gaming has transformed so rapidly over the last 6 months or so. Not throwing shade at anyone cuz I totally understand why it is happening, but it's wild how we went from "gaming has never been better" to "gaming is dying"
It is on PC and consoles (xbox, ps4/5, switch), but I would recommend playing on PC if you are able since you'll want access to a keyboard in order to type out the meanings of different runes
Yeah I agree, it kind of gives me a similar "discovery" vibe to games like obra dinn or the case of the golden idol - Very high praise from me as I love those games
You should try it and see! I think it's pretty cool - the symbology of the runes makes sense too once you learn what they are. They were quite clever in devising these I think
Anyway this is on gamepass and worth checking out! I've gotten minorly stuck on something a couple of times but in general it's a fun and unique take on this kind of puzzle adventure game
That's pretty cool - I'm only 2 languages in so far (apparently there are 5) but I'm excited to see how the others are different as well.
