Artist/writer FULL TILT (2024), Kill All Monsters artist/co-creator. Drinker of Slurpees. He/Him
I watched Sometimes I Think About Dying, tonight. Interesting film.
I'm only going to open my DMs on here to those I follow... for now. I want to see how it goes before opening it up to all.
Oh! I had a dream/nightmare last night that there was a major printing problem with my FULL TILT books. I've had the books in my hand for over 2 months so how could I be having a dream like that?! It's like the dreams about not being ready for a final exam. hahaha!
It's not a race, Jason. Take your time and make your book the best that you can.
My main thought is, like what you want to like and don't worry about what others thing about it. Life is too short to get upset about stuff like that.
There are somethings I just don't have any nostalgia for. But, even the things I have nostalgia for, I don't get my nickers in a twist if other people don't like it. Why do people get sooooo wound up about the things they are nostalgic for when people don't like it?
I’d love to have a permanent name and logo for my new project because I hate having to constantly refer to it as my new project. I just haven’t found “the one”, you know?
I’d love to get more traction in here. Sitting at the 800 follower level but hopeful that I can get that number up.
Thanks! Just a rough something to kickoff the new sketchbook.
It took until I was this many years old to buy the Jefferson Starship track “Jane”. God I love that song.
The first two pager since FULL TILT. Mind you, this is just the first two pages of my new sketchbook for my new project.
Ugh. The pressure I put on myself to make that first page of a sketchbook look great even though the idea of the sketchbook is to record my rough designs and whatnots.
Every once in a while I think about writing reviews of comics I really enjoy. But then I come to my senses.
And then make it a super expensive/exclusive tier to back for the crowdfunding campaign.
I only have 2 of these awesome sketchbooks left but I’m going start using this one for working out ideas for my new project. I’m going to date the pages as I go so I can follow my progress over the course of making the book.
I find it strange that a spammy account that followed me on here is still counted as one of my "followers" after I blocked the account.
Going through an old sketchbook and looking at a bit of FULL TILT’s origins. These pages are almost 6 years old.
I’m thinking about using back matter in my next book to fill in info that I don’t want to try and work into characters’ discussions. Saves me and the reader wading through expositional dialogue. It’ll be there for those that need more clarification but not required reading.
I received another quarterly report from a certain publisher and I get to relive my anger all over again.
Those emails only reinforce my love of self publishing!
It’s time to get some writing done out in the gazebo! Just missing a cider beverage.
I got lots of writing on my new project done today while sitting out in the gazebo! And the weather is supposed to be great for the rest of the week so I can sit out there writing even more.
It’s tough out there for makers of comics, that’s no lie. My only real advice is to make sure you are creating something you love working on. Do it for you and no one else. Your love of the thing you are making will shine through and you will do your best work.
