Just some guy.
He/Him.
I like comics. I write about them here: https://www.opendoor-comics.com/unbagged/

(Which is not, of course, meant to suggest that I believe Alito's statement for a second.)
If you were to say to Mrs. Alito, "That was a weird fucking response," she would have no choice but to burn a cross as a rejoinder to your use of profanity.
I immediately recognized the late Lorissa McComas.

He had the distinction of being the only person who'd ever pushed the DON'T button - emergency shutdown - in one of the datacenters, and also of being the only person who could get away with doing it.
When I worked at AOL we had an EVP named Matt Korn. His AOL screenname - which he used for work - was Korn. He got a lot of instant messages from people who were setting themselves up for disappointment.
nothing at my job made me feel quite as old as having to explain to my coworkers that, yes, KoRn really spelled their name with that capitalization
i spared them the pedantry of pointing out they used an Я too
Randomly sharing this post again because I think it's a good one. Just a short personal essay about my history and relationship with #comics and what they've meant to me throughout the years.
Literally dozens of people have read it and enjoyed it. Maybe you will, too.
I toyed with the notion of calling this one “Unbagging Jon,” but ultimately – and obviously – decided against it. But that’s kind of what this is; I’ve been thin…

www.opendoor-comics.comI kind of kept up with TALES OF THE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES for a while, and picked up a few issues of the main series - mainly the "pocket universe" issues - but that still leaves a big chunk unread.
I've been reading the first volume of the FIVE YEARS LATER omnibus for the Legion and realizing that I really need to read five years earlier. What happened after the book went direct sales only is nearly as much of a gap for me as 5YL has been.
Presumabl playing Supertramp's "The Logical Song."
Why does he look like one of the puppets from TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE?
This guy is living proof that all ketamine and mindfulness in the world won't raise your IQ a single point
I have a great Eddie Berganza joke, so all the women will have to leave so I can tell it.
Similarly, I had a great Wolverine joke but Roy Thomas wanted some credit for it.
I had a great Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko joke but Stan Lee took credit for it.
Ha! Hadn't seen this when I made my John Byrne joke but it's one of the things I was thinking about.
to the X-boks featuring Storm.
Wolverine told Storm - who famously, in a storyline WRITTEN BY CLAREMONT, led the X-Men after losing her powers - that there may come a time when she can't rely on her powers in a fight.
One of the many Claremont beats that always amused/annoyed me was featuring a scene with Wolverine teaching someone how to fight and giving a lecture about how they may not be able to rely on their powers when they're in a scrap. It especially killed me when he did a scene like that upon his return
I had a Chris Claremont joke that was so good we kept going back to it at the start of every new performance.
I had a Chris Claremont joke that, as you know, Ragnell, was the focused totality of my humor.
I had a John Byrne joke but I got mad and quit telling it in a huff right after I started.

An exceedingly light #NewComicBookDay for me, but at least it gets me out of the house. Take a look at the #PullList to see which #comics I did get.

I would LOVE to see someone try to make a jump with it.
Or try to do the cool sliding across the hood thing and getting absolutely shredded in the process.
Of course, there is a very good chance that, like the real General Lee, the doors won't open.
I...do not care for any of those.
I can't believe that Frank Cho, of all people, whiffed it on the Swimsuit Variant assignment gizmodo.com/dc-swimsuit-...
io9 has your first look at this year's delightfully seasonal summer variants.
gizmodo.comLol. I was very late to the party. I don't even know what the "Hell Thread" was.
someone made a neat little "label scanner"
word of caution tho. just like with checking mutes/blocks, proceed with caution. can absolutely induce madness if not approached with care lol
For me it was mostly because I'd moved and no longer had access to a comic shop. Then once I lived near comic shops it just took me a while to finally venture out to one.
If I hadn't taken an extended break from all comics starting in 1995, I probably would be there with you. Read them all up to that point.
When I got back into comics I didn't start picking up any of the Superman books regularly until the New 52. However, I've been steady since that point.
I remember getting that DCP in a swap with the only other kid at school who was as into comics as I was.
But for real, the easiest, free way to help me out is to check out what I've written about #comics and comics-adjacent things by visiting Comics Unbagged (without an ad blocker).
If you want to do something more direct, the site has links for doing that.
Years ago I worked an afternoon shift and every day for weeks when I'd be sitting around dreading going to work, REAL GENIUS would be on some HBO or Cinemax channel or other, and I would watch it every day.
Using an image, show a movie you’re sure you’ve watched more than ten times
My sister's high school boyfriend used to borrow a lot of my comics, which his born-again Christian mom would often find in his room and throw away because she felt they were satanic.
Fortunately, I never lost anything anywhere near as significant as what you're talking about.
