Friends could go with you to the airplane gate and there was no security. The non-smoking section on planes was the first 5 rows (at least on PSA). Stewardesses (all women) wore hot pants or mini skirts.
Reskeet with how old you are, using a vague proxy:
I sat in the smoking section of a restaurant.
Just here. I have accounts on the places you listed but never log in to them.
Can you please manifest my favorite fountain pen that went missing?
When I had two large dogs they never cooperated on what direction they were going to pull. I'm not sure if it was better or worse that way. 😂
Same. Love the Model 3, hope it lasts forever because I'm not buying another Tesla product.
Yes and yes? Four pens always have the same inks, the other three get filled according to whim.
We didn't have the steep sidewalk in my Sacramento neighborhood, but we had all the rest.
Fine, I backed it. If I donate a little more will you send an Old One after an enemy of my choice? I didn't see that backer level.
I was so daunted about the immensity of the swatching task. I finally sat down and started it one evening and was shocked at how fast I finished.
My dog harassed a crow in the backyard this weekend and now every crow in the neighborhood yells at him when he's outside. In related news I have learned there are a lot more crows in the neighborhood than I thought.
I haven't had any luck with verbal acknowledgements, but if I look out the window with him or go outside with him he seems to feel that he's handed the situation off to me and he settles down.
My no ink resolution lasted until the third week of January. 🤦♀️
Dang it, I had just talked myself out of going there next year and now you put that back in my mind again.
We used to have a Rangpur lime in front. People would steal the fruit thinking they were tangerines. I get that, but when they would bite in and get a mouth full of sour they would throw the fruit at our house making a sticky, hard to clean mess. WTF
I will never not be entertained by minor league baseball team names.
San Francisco Giants optioned C Blake Sabol to Richmond Flying Squirrels.
A month later I went to France as an exchange student. The other students in our group couldn't grasp how profoundly it had affected all of us from ring of fire states.
Same. ONE bladder fill pen, which means I forget how to even fill it when the time is right. One day I'll get annoyed enough to replace that with a converter, because otherwise I love that pen.
I take them all the time. In my carryon in a ziplock bag, never had a leak unless I tried to open one during the flight (just got some ink on my fingers from the pressure difference, no pen damage).
My healthcare provider won't give it to anyone over 45. Booo!
I'm worried that he's sitting next to Exploding Kittens. Seems ominous.
Just got a new telescope so I would like to apologize to everyone for the cloudy weather we'll all get for the next month. 🔭
Not an expert, but just finished three months of work with an expert to help my fearful dog. Sounds like he's having some infrequent but strong negative experience outside. (Mine has a terror of wet grass among other things. I had to make a gravel area for him during rainy spells).
Absolutely agree. When I taught university, the only time I required an excuse was for missing a midterm or a final (mostly to deter students who thought they could get extra time to study). College students are adults and can make their own decisions about whether or not to attend a class.
If a college or graduate student has an abortion, it's none of their teacher's business. But these University of Texas professors apparently think otherwise and say they have a protected legal interest in penalizing students who have abortions with unexcused absences.

"Faster than light?"
"Anything can be achieved," the alien's translation device said, "by balancing the four fundamental chkoi."
"You mean gravity, electromagnetism, and the nuclear forces?"
"No, the fundamental chkoi."
"What are they?"
"Spite, tiredness, hope, and 'fuck it'."

Now I need to go back and watch all the River Song episodes. But I'm not sure I'm ready for all the feels.
I tried so many times to make friends with my serger but it was not to be. I got an overlock foot for my sewing machine and that's been a wonderful substitute.
Premee Mohamed's "And What Can We Offer You Tonight" is centered around sex workers in a dystopian society.
#Aurora from near the Sacramento Airport. 3 second night vision, color enhanced. Good thing I took some pictures just in case because I saw nothing with the naked eye.
Not the tone you're looking for, but when I got married I sat both of my acrimoniously divorced parents down and said "If you pull ANYTHING I will stop the ceremony and personally kick your ass out". I was not a kid who ever talked back to them but they were so shocked that they behaved.
Our school's highly edited Civil Rights history was "Rosa Parks was on a bus, some kids went to school, and now racism is over". 🤦♀️
I just got a new M3 Max at work and zero issues setting up my dev env. The only snag was installing the custom build of Java that we use, but that was mostly a failure of our internal docs.
I suspect it depends a lot on what type of job it is. We haven't seen any increase with things like copilot, but we do very little boilerplate work. As an EM I struggle to find things AI could do for me, but I don't do a lot of writing longer than a paragraph.
The baby next door has a squeaky toy and Luke is fascinated by the idea that such a toy could exist and not be in his possession.
Yeah, that's the heavier one. Noticeably thicker and smoother.
Only down side so far besides price: wet inks don't soak in to the page (hence the lack of ghosting), but that means they stay wet on the page a little longer. Have to wait a few seconds before turning the page.
Got one of the new Leuchtturm1917 120g notebooks as a self reward + motivator. So nice to write on, and no ghosting even with very wet fountain pen inks. I'm in love.
It's a tough situation. Solar is costly and folks get upset if major changes are made to rates. But the utilities did a poor job of forecasting solar uptake and are now in a bad spot. Not sure there's a good solution in the short term. (But get rid of investor owned utils as a start.) 4/4
We do get some renewable power at night here (hydro, wind, biomass), but not 100% of our power. Rules changed last year for new installs that lower sell prices and require batteries, but that won't affect existing solar for many years. 3/
I have solar, whole house battery, and two EVs. All purchases encouraged by utility and local gov. I can soak up a lot of excess solar with all those batteries, but under current rules that would cost up to 25¢/kWh more than charging EVs at night. 2/
Sadly, houses with solar currently have a disincentive to shift the time they sell back to the grid. (I live in a MUD with different rules than neighboring PG&E, but similar enough). 1/

In a major clean energy benchmark, wind, solar, and hydro exceeded 100% of demand on California's main grid for 30 of the past 38 days.
