Alas, retired to a world of music and books.
Enjoy the listen while wishing you had a top hat and cane to strut with across the floor…

As I’ve expressed elsewhere on 7DecPlaylist, The Road To Hell album has been a goto for me over the last 30-some odd years. Lyrics, arrangement, orchestration, musicianship, atmosphere...: it has it all..
I was too occupied with the vicissitudes of daily living at the time to pay much attention to it other than it sounded great with the volume cranked up on my car speakers. I’m sure you have yours. ‘Tis definitely an 80s song with the strengths and weaknesses of the music scene during that time...
While Everyone Deserves Music seemed to many Franti fans to be a lessening of his messaging and his quality of work, I still enjoy just bopping along to “Yes I Will” and its positive message. And, sometimes that all you need from music…
I was shining shoes in a small backroom of the St. Clair Country Club just outside Pittsburgh, PA, when this song was in heavy rotation on the local WAMO and WZUM sundowner (AM radio station that goes off the air at sundown due to FCC rules present at the time) soul music stations.
I was an evening DJ on a small radio station in Beaufort, South Carolina, when this song came out and it was a heavy in the rotation. Playing the long album version allowed me more time to talk to listeners on the phone and take a bathroom break.
