Late to the party, but American Fiction was good fun. Basically Hollywood Shuffle for the Book of the Month set.
You've got to say, "I'm a HUMAN BEING, Goddamn it! My life has VALUE!"
Just today, the NC GOP banned masks with a KKK exception, Abbott pardoned a political murderer, a gaggle of billionaires paid to bring the cops down on Columbia, and Alito is flying the distress flag.
If the GOP keep acting like lawless insurgents, perhaps it's time to invoke the John Brown rule.
Either that, or given Abbott's pardon of a murderer today, Whitmer or Newsom or somesuch should put out bounties.
Guessing Paul Walter Hauser is Mole Man or Herbie. Real question to me is who is Malkovich.
Guessing she's Alicia Masters (now from Yancy Street), solid pickup. Loving the Ralph Ineson as Galactus casting.
If Natasha Lyonne plays that universe's Watcher and does a ten-fifteen minute rambling explanation as to why she really can't get involved, then #FantasticFour will be the best Marvel movie ever made

Yet again, we’ve stumbled upon my favorite of all niche topics: what fictional media best represents your field and why?
Movies, maybe. Twin Peaks (premiered spring 1990) and Dee-Lite's "Groove is in the Heart" - the big MTV hit of that summer - both seemed exceptionally 90s to me, both at the time and in retrospect.
This reminds me, a fun fact I learned this weekend: Smith-Cameron is married to Kenneth Lonergan (who shows up as Dickie's dad in Ripley).

J Smith-Cameron will star opposite Sir Mark Rylance in a centenary production of Juno and the Paycock.
www.bbc.comAs a Knicks fan, I can safely say that the Ewing trade to Seattle metastasized for decades. Ewing became Glen Rice(?) and Luc Longley(??), which became Howard Eisley and Shandan Anderson(???), and it just kept getting worse. All those Starbury - Eddy Curry years go back to that sin.
It's why he hates the hotel desk guys. Hard to clobber with an ashtray.
Andrew Scott seemed 20 years too old for the part but otherwise no complaints. Very easy on the eyes. Takeaways: disposing of bodies is hard/annoying and be nice but not too nice to the hotel desk folks.
Nobody's going to feel good about anything until after November, but I'd rather be us given the way the ground game looks to be playing out.
We read this in 9th grade, along with On the Beach. The late Cold War was a whole mood, as the kids say.
Welp, that's more money out my pocket.

bricksfanz.comKinda feels like we're at a moment where the current crop of aging stars are going to get blown out of the gym a few years early by teams running and gunning.
Did he mention the Russians in Afghanistan? Wheel of Fortune or Sally Ride?

Fun Aurora fact:
The reason folks are seeing red/purple aurora is that the current storm is strong enough that it's attracting malicious and majesterial spirits from deep mirror dimensions. The "regular" green Aurora is due to interaction with higher level beings from nearer realms.
Same scene here in Philly.
Even if it wasn't already well substantiated that Jack is dumb AF, I feel like the "don't trust a grown-ass man who dresses like Rasputin" rule would kick in here.

Hard to understate how charismatic Garrett is live. I saw the Oils in 95 and he was riffing on that day's news in-between songs.
Hell yeah. I saw it in the theater 4 times.
People don't recall this but it even prompted China to ask why they weren't making movies like this.

Now if there was a brain in his worm...
So will he put us on the Golden Path or not?
As I read this sentence, it’s the worm that will not influence his presidency, not the missing brain
Sounds bad: “I think we are headed for major societal disruption within the next five years,” said Gretta Pecl, at the University of Tasmania. “[Authorities] will be overwhelmed by extreme event after extreme event, food production will be disrupted. I could not feel greater despair over the future”

youtu.beLike real cops, this cop in your home is also a staggeringly useless drain of resources. It burns through 16oz of water every time you ask it a question and responds with mostly gibberish.
His contemporaries can’t be happy that he’s out here saying yes, that tech we want to insert into every aspect of your life is also a cop.
“He [Altman] mused that AI might, for example, testify against you or get subpoenaed by a court.
That will be a new thing for society to navigate…”
Responding, Altman criticized the construct of having people rate their doomsday predictions from one to 100.
