tinyurl.comI see in paper titles even in highly-ranked/much-appreciated journals the term "flora" (not "microflora", which is also wrong) for referring to "microbiota". I came across such terms in papers <1970s. Makes me wonder about (some) authors/reviewers/editors/publishers ... in 2024 ...
I find it collegial and rewarding that after being an editor in a few journals for >15 yrs, I now get emails thanking me for handling their paper (after acceptance; one even after I had to reject their paper!!!). It's a positive sign that science is made of humans, not just by humans.
Dissociating journals from their society, is bad news: "Applied Microbiology International has sold its minority shares in our three joint-owned journals: Environmental Microbiology, Environmental Microbiology Reports and Microbial Biotechnology to Wiley"
