Oh no, @richterscale.bsky.social
I got cybertrucked today!
Yikes, that is way too much, and I would have rebelled ages ago!
The Painted Drum, by Louise Erdrich. (Just reread it recently.)
When I was a kid, we had rotary phones! Push-button ones were newfangled! And if, as a teen/college student, you dated someone who lived more than 45 minutes away, you worked extra hours so you'd have $$ for long distance bills.
I remember the *exact* moment I realized this about my Dad.
Beep the horn (in a friendly manner) when you cross a state line. :)
We are trying to find a place where we can live car-minimal in *retirement* that is also affordable, and it is extremely challenging.
Is anyone else old enough to remember VW's "The Thing"? (That was its actual name.) Even that looked better than a Cybertruck.
These "likes" are a way of saying: I'm just a stranger on the internet, but I believe in you.
I'm just a stranger on the internet, but I believe in you. 💕
We did this during spring 2020! I "invented" a dish out of what-the-heck-do-we-have-on-hand ingredients that we still enjoy.
Wow, I'm feeling less bad about the live outlet we found behind the backsplash when we had our kitchen updated last year.
Same here. I thought things might change once a lot more people got sick. I'm still hopeful that research on LC will help all of us.
Maybe one consideration is: if you're a person with Long COVID, it doesn't really matter how many/few people are there with you... because it utterly changes your life, and because the rest of the world doesn't want to know. We don't have a safety net for people with chronic illnesses.
10. Get to a doctor and INSIST on a course of doxy. (Not everyone gets a bullseye rash upon infection.)
Yeah, there's also the fact that "just the flu" can be life-changing in a very bad way, setting off immune system problems that are difficult/impossible to diagnose and treat.
This is such a beautiful story; thank you for sharing it with us. Tears here, too.
I feel like a lot of people would be interested in this class...
Those rotisserie chickens are so much better (and cost less) than the ones at the grocery store. I will definitely go out of my way for those & buy other stuff to go with.
I am looking into the future and *knowing* there will come a time when I can't drive anymore, or don't want to, and I am appalled at the lack of options, at least at this moment. Especially when you combine it with the need for affordable housing on a fixed income/social security.
Oh hi @darthbluesky.bsky.social
This rotund delight and all their p-dog friends and family live next door to the red panda (who was too sleepy today for a photo). 😊😊
We have had this exact conversation in my household. (Spouse is a h.s. teacher and DeWine was considering something similar this past year.)
