me either let’s be honest I’ll be drinking beer and ranting about school segregation and inequity
Nicole liked my skeet which is a legal commitment to be my accomplice in this airtight plan
*Allan. I know how to spell your name this is entirely autocorrect’s fault
the funny thing is that Jen and Allen are going to have a kickass party on our street and after a couple cocktails i will be getting all y’all to write emails to the school board because i know an opportunity when i see it
please tell me there was 90s hip hop at karaoke or i will be devastated
It’s more fun with other people to tag team so if you ever want to dip a toe you can hang with me and then bounce when you’ve had enough.
I have biked by this place so many times but never eaten there so I also need to stop in and try it sometime.
Between the West End farmers market this morning and an impromptu stop into Port City this afternoon I saw so many awesome people today! Thank you for the reminder of what I love so much about this city.
Despite the weird aggression from certain campaign volunteers I’ve really enjoyed volunteering to hand out lit at the farmers market. You get to see lots of dogs of all kinds, grab some good snacks, chat with neighbors and meet new people. 10/10 recommend if anyone wants to join me next time.
hang on is there a party on my street in the works because if there is i will be there
I don’t understand the grumpy rudeness as a campaign strategy.
Greeted a neighbor while handing out lit and got yelled at by volunteers for another campaign who yelled “he’s already voted!”
And I yelled back “I’m just trying to talk to my neighbor but thank you for weighing in!”
When you’ve already been sitting somewhere for a campaign volunteer gig for half an hour before another campaign arrives and refuses to set up anywhere else because “this is where I always set up.” I’m sorry ma’am this is not your personal private property.
Come see us at the West End Farmers Market this morning. Got an extra enthusiastic helper for a while this morning.
Just like wu tang, Biergartens are (should be) for the children
is that not what the local columnist for the schmalex grimes do i fail to see the distinction other than your shitposts have better grammar and well placed bad bunny references
i thought you were the local journalism between alxtra and the bluesky scribing
These three books are also good to understand Alexandria right now.
Own a home in Fauxlandria but do lots of stuff in Real ALX? You're basically George Washington! (But without the enslaver part.)
If not at the top of my all time nonfiction list, it's pretty close.
Motion to make The Sum of Us be the next All Alexandria Reads book.
Thinking we need The Solidarity Dividend to be the All Alexandria Reads book.
I suspect many of them took at least one Econ class and what the actual problem is is that Econ principles conflict with their personal interests.
I’m now sad too! When did it close? I haven’t been over there in a minute and had no idea.
There are so many barriers even to community college. I am the descendent and the spouse of people who didn’t finish any kind of college & they are some of the smartest people I know. Cool to put both realistic and fantasy ideas here but i don’t agree w/ anything raising barriers to participation.
Trust me, as an immigration expert it’s really hard to listen to comments that fail to understand common principles but limiting participation isn’t the way.
That would actually exclude me. I only have one semester of economics formally but have learned a lot more than that through other means.
closest Colombian is aroma cafe in Springfield or foggy bottom.
King Pollo too. I was going to say Emma’s but just saw that they have closed.
There’s also Huascaran in Chirilagua.
I see your frustration @yimbyalexandriaken.bsky.social but i would very much not like to see public participation gatekept by formal education.
yeah I don’t think we have any Colombian in the city. We do have Peruvian but I would take more Peruvian options too.
and of course, we and all of the dmv need better tacos
definitely seems like a mascot bike for a store catering to the “this will do for my summer beach house” crowd
embrace the brief window in which you get to be the youth tim it goes by so quickly
This ACPS form has instructions in Spanish & Amharic on how to translate the form itself (good!) but doesn’t have it in Dari, which is a big miss for a form directed to Patrick Henry parents! An oversight like this will deter key stakeholders.
