Universal basic income, health care, & education. Tax me for it.
Also, I think if air got into the carotid artery, that'd be the real problem.
Best television!?
We're in the golden age of TV right now. I get wishing we had more simple episodic story telling instead of all epic arcs and what not, but in general, sheesh, TV is WAY better these days than... maybe ever?
"Best Music"?
I find most music from my teens to be a bit painful these days. I've found so much good music off the mainstream that music from then feels like worn out nostalgia. It's often more of a memory than something I like on its own.
"Best Radio"?
This is a weird measure for me. I haven't listened to radio for quality in... decades.
Honestly, I mostly listen to snippets of RWNJ talk radio to keep tabs on their talking points, and that's just when driving for errands.
There's a very simple counterpoint.
Name two republicans that, while serving, when push came to shove, DIDN'T kowtow to TFGs authoritarianism.
I think Liz Cheney might be the only one, and how did the GOP establishment react to that?
"why would anyone be straight if we let them know there are other options"
I swear so much conservative thought is rooted in the idea that there are no other lived experiences, and that line right there is reflective of that. They are gay, and therefore assume everyone feels that way.
It’s such a fascinating example where nearly every case of someone disagreeing with the result affirms the result.
Was this made while listening to "who can it be now?"?
Oh my god, is he a mud flood-er?
That's the stupidest conspiracy theory there is!
Considering the "conversion therapy" bit, yeah, but the text on its own still has actual value, even if unintended.
So far ahead of it's time people weren't even ready to be scared and offended yet.
Him thinking that's when it was introduced tells me he's never voted before.
How long till the police brutality is ruled in the court to be protected speech?
Hmm, it'd be interesting to see what overlap there is in high functioning sociopaths as business executives adopt autism as an excuse for their toxic behavior.
And/or toxic masculinity's emotional repression.
We can't let Airbus get more market share in light of these unfortunate incidents.
REDUCE THE REGULATIONS! That's the ticket! That'll give the necessary competitive edge!
I wonder if it means he's now Ron Perlman underneath?
The faux mystery box did the movie no favors.
We all knew it was Khan, but they were like "No, it's not Khan, it's a new character"
Look, cat's out of the bag, you can stop insulting our intelligence.
The inevitable result of aggressive de-regulation, particularly on wuen assuming all regulation is burdensome and ineffective, is a kakistocracy.
How long till someone floats repealing the Food and Drugs Act of 1906?
(even though they can just call it a supplement and bypass that already anyway)
It's practically a signature move for him...
Making unnecessary mistakes by ignoring known solutions to known problems.
Applying that to a social media platform is one thing.
Applying it to car manufacturing is another much worse thing.
Applying it to FUCKING BRAIN SURGERY IS MONSTROUS!
I feel very bad suggesting this, but lets give it some time before we disregard those as additional possibilities.
The question for me is if he was fully and properly informed of the risks.
Considering how enough of the general public take Clyde's promotional statements, and the title, of "FSD" over it's actual description, I have strong doubts about that.
2. I STRONGLY doubt this volunteer was given a proper impression of the risks involved. If I'm wrong about that, cool, but considering how people take "FSD" to be what it's named and do what Clyde says it does, ignoring what the "official information" says, yeah, I have serious doubts here, too.
This volunteer is quadriplegic. If they volunteered knowing the risks, that's one thing, but I have some issues.
1. No org should be messing with brains with the current track record Neuralink has. They need to do MUCH better in animal tests first. (issues with their animal tests so far aside)
No, it's worse than snake oil. This shit can FUCKING KILL YOU!
Appealing Clyde's trademark "wildly optimistic in a plausible way to people who don't know any better" self promotion to people in the kind of pain he can't imagine...
Just...
FUCK THAT GUY!!!
This, THIS SHIT RIGHT FUCKING HERE is how he went from generic idiot robber baron hyper capitalist to GROTESQUE FUCKING SLIME.
This whole brain chip thing is peddling snake oil directly to the most desperate people. He touted it at one point as the solution to depression and anxiety.
“Enjoy your death trap, ladies!”
Plus a gnarly concussion 2 movies later...
No, that's a strong reaction from a kink in a garden hose and it messes with the pressure.
You get scared by knotted up cords?
This term REALLY needs a hyphen to ensure clarity.
Let's all agree to stay the hell away from his cars and rockets...
And tunnels...
And brain chips...
Good god, how stupid are we, collectively? So desperate to buy into the great man myth...
mastodon.social/@rodhilton/1...
He talked about electric cars. I don't know anything about cars, so when people said he was a genius I figured he must be a genius.
Then he talked about rockets. I don't know anything about rockets, ...
I'm a Captain Pedantic man, myself
I've been dubious about Tesla since the whole "bumpers falling off from rain" thing in 2018.
My estimation of them has only gotten worse since then.

Tesla Acknowledges That Model 3 Rear Bumpers Can Fall Off In The Rain
www.carscoops.comNow you’re just being unreasonable
This effect is in line with authoritarian nationalist goals…
The frustrating thing is that they had to win an election, so there's a functional reason to say they do represent their electorate.
Nominally, at least.
And that's where the unnecessary fluff comes in.
I really REALLY wish I could find the thing so when I reference it it isn't just hearsay, but I can't remember who said it, where they worked, or when it was. 😬
"speaking truth to power"? That sounds expensive and dangerous.
How about "Speaking for power"? That's cheap and easy and keeps the powerful on your side so you don't have to fight for access. You don't even need to pay writers much since they're just copying.
"preferred interpretation" is one thing. Simply platforming statements uncritically is another as well.
I wish so much that I had saved this, but I remember some news exec stating that the duty of the news IS to be an uncritical bullhorn for statements from people.
I swear that happened, and is nuts
That copy looks like it was created by an LLM.
"Visual delight"? C'mon, man, if that wasn't created by an LLM, someone should feel bad for that job.
One reason why some might be "casual" consumers of the news is because too many articles DO NOT GET TO THE FUCKING POINT!
I got shit to do, please respect my time. I'm not here for an emotional journey, I'm here to learn what's happening.
It's not everything, obviously, but damn it's aggravating.
