Technically most apps *are* websites.
They're just highly customized browsers that take you to one and only one web site.
"Hey everybody, I'm gonna take these beans, roast them, grind them up, pour hot water through them and then drink it!"
When you stop and think about it we're just really goddamned weird.
The worst part about laying down to stop feeling sick is you wake up in the middle of the fucking night with no idea what's going on.
Neat!
Marketing firm Ebuiquity found that the vast majority of biggest spenders have stopped advertising on X following Elon Musk's takeover.

All of them.
Hold them to it.
Three lawyers have flipped so far. The former White House Chief of Staff has flipped.
And this is in the state trial, so no federal pardons.

No, for real.
Right now the costume department at SNL is on their fourth set of makeup for the "Speaker" in their next episode and the writers have just torn up another draft while weeping softly.
Simply put, what's happening with the Republicans is the death throes of a political party. In any other democracy they'd simply split into two more parties in a multi-party system and share power.
But we have an insane system that presumes only two viable perspectives exist.
Simply put, what's happening with the Republicans is the death throes of a political party. In any other democracy they'd simply split into two more parties in a multi-party system and share power.
But we have an insane system that presumes only two viable perspectives exist.
If we were being honest, America currently has a progressive party and a neoliberal party trying to be a single entity, and a conservative and fascist party trying to be a single entity. Maybe even a centrist faction in there somewhere.
But we don't allow them all to exist.
The resulting dysfunction brings us a party where fascists are trying to strongarm their way to power and conseratives are mainly irritated that the fascists are getting in the way of their money and probably are going to cost them the majority.
They share ground but not ideals.
For conservatives, money and power are the goal; whoever gets hurt in the process is incidental and best not considered.
For fascists, hurting people is the path to money and power and also ethnic and ideological purity.
Similiar but not identical, and both at odds.
So conservatives are pissed that the fascists are going to blow a shot at maybe lowering a few more taxes if they pretend to be reasaonble with the Democratic rubes.
Fascists are pissed that conservatives don't want to rip off Democratic heads and shit down their necks.
They're both equally repulsive, but conservatives wants to accomplish something (deregulation, dismantling the safety net, lowering taxes to nothing) and the fascists thinks they can just overthrow everything if the fucking conservatives would stop being weak.
It's madness.
I was planning on streaming some Cities: Skylines II this week, but it's been released in such a half-assed state that a water-cooled RTX 3080, a Ryzen 7900X with 64GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD can't get better than 30 frames per second without cranking all the settings down.
Paradox, please fix thnx

$100k is luxury car territory, and the Cybertruck is not a luxury *anything.*

Elon Musk gives X employees one year to replace your bank - https://www.theverge.com/2023/10/26/23934216/x-twitter-bank-elon-musk-2024
Musk wants your “entire financial life” on his platform.

Dipshit thinks rolling back all of his unworkable ideas as well as a ton of other things that would have left Paypal with the same liabilities as a bank was "crazy."
Holy crap if the executives at Paypal hadn't pushed him out we'd all be stucking using Venmo.
One of the things Musk demanded that Paypal "rolled back" was giving $10,000 credit lines to anyone who wanted one.
It was, of course, an utter disaster. qz.com/1463422/elon...
Simply put it means they gave credit to people with no background check and no strings.
So at least half of all the people who took advantage of Elon's boneheaded idea opened a line of credit, bought a bunch of shit and then never even tried to pay it off.
That's insane.

I admit I don’t know what a charge back rate is. Then again I’ve never gotten myself a credit card cause I don’t trust the things.
Folks, I am straight up burnt tonight. I just need a quiet night to myself.

Wild to have a Speaker of the House affirm his love of Solomon's contribution to the Bible: hardcore smut.
M-O-O-N, that spells "Jesus."
He's also tacitly admitting he thinks the moon landings were a hoax considering the bible explicitly names the moon as an independent light source.
The amount of things in the Bible that Christian parents are absolutely cool with but would scream venegece over in any other work is *wild.*
You want daddy-daughter incest? You want an angry crowd sexually assaulting an angel of the lord? You want guts and gore? Boy howdy, it's all there.

Yesterday we were out and we heard an interview on NPR with someone who was just devil's advocating the crap out of any anti-trust action against tech companies.
At the very end the interviewer quickly identified her as an editor at Reason dot com. 🙄
Israel has illegally been placing settlements in the West Bank for over a decade now, in defiance of the UN and international law.

twitch.tvWas idly thinking about the weirdly random stuff that can kill pets (like day lilies and grapes and chocolate and stuff), when it occured to me: are there any substances that would kill *us* that cats or dogs could tolerate with no problem?
