Blithely tripping the high-wire between basic and extra. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Connoisseur of absurdities. My dog is a Muttville gal. 🏳️🌈 he/him
Some years back I found another novel by Ilka Chase in a thrift store and ended up loving it. "New York 22."
I had a friend at college whose hill to die on was "shat" as the past tense of "shit." I considered her as something of an expert as her name was Tish, and when she introduced herself to strangers she would always say "that's shit spelled sideways."
I see this car every so often in the Inner Sunset or just inside G G Park on MLK Drive. It always makes me smile.
I did that once years ago, at my favorite old-school barbershop on Polk. But I was tripping on acid and by the time I paid and walked out the door I found that I had a shaved head, smooth like a cue ball 😁
Of course Dottie couldn't visit the Shakespeare Garden without taking a moment to honor the Bard of Avon himself 😁
One of the very few regrets I will publicly admit to is having passed up a chance to spend a year in Prague teaching English over 30 years ago. A friend did go and he came back with so many great stories of his experiences there.
As always, McClellan here is both interesting and very informative. Be sure to watch to the very end!

No doubt a relative (ancestor?) of the young actor who plays the Duke of Buckingham in MARY AND GEORGE, Nicholas Galitzine.
As usual in such things the plot took some liberties with actual history, but it was very entertaining to this lover of all things #earlymodern!
Yeah that red-and-cream livery is stunning, isn't it. I can't wait to ride it!
Here's more info from an article last December.
San Francisco Market Street Railway | We keep San Francisco's Vintage Streetcars on Track | www.streetcar.org
www.streetcar.orgPardon me if you already know this, but the Market Street Railway/MUNI have two boat trams, and I hear they have just purchased a THIRD one, which will need a lot of renovation before its put into service. The boat trams are a lot of fun to ride!
If you see this post a wolf (the lion is an added bonus!)
In the '80s I became friends with a member of the Cockettes through my best friend, also a performer, who was dating him. He is still around and last I heard is still involved in the performing arts. 👍
In the '70s, I got a tip that a group of fans had collected at O'Hare for the midnight arrival of a San Francisco gender-f*ck band, The Cockettes. Of course I went. I was interviewing one burly, bearded, serious-looking band member...

I saw one in Golden Gate Park yesterday, it wasn't rusted out (not yet, anyway) but it looked AWFUL.

Prominent GOP bigot Ron De Santis banned rainbow lights on bridges for Pride month. So the citizens of Jacksonville took matters into their own hands with rainbow flashlights. www.erininthemorning.com/p/locals-def...
The Main Street Bridge in Jacksonville was lit up in rainbow colors, despite DeSantis declaring "Freedom Summer," which would replace all Pride lights with red, white, and blue.

It sure would be comical if Samuel Alito had recently published an opinion in which he expressed strong feelings about flags and wrote that passersby viewing a flag flying over a building would naturally assume the flag conveys some message on the owner's behalf

LMAO THE TRUTH OF THIS 🤣
The Alitos have a traditional Catholic marriage (she acts fucking crazy at home, and he acts fucking crazy at work)
Charming tunes for the season. Lovely!

Over the years that it was in Golden Gate Park I became friends with some of the kids who worked there. I keep meaning to head over to the Wharf to say hey.
Saw this magnificent great blue heron in Golden Gate Park, just five feet from the path I was walking along. So glad it consented to pose for me! #SanFrancisco
I like cats but I *love* dogs so I guess I'm a dog person?
@samuel.bsky.team Gotta ask: are you a cat person, a dog person, or a "I don't like animals" person? And, are you a Marie Kondo person (i.e., @pfrazee.com ) or not? Feel free to disregard if these questions are too personal.
Absolutely right, in my humble queer opinion. 👍
I'm glad people CAN purchase LGBTQIA+ merch from big stores these days, but as an LGBTQIA+ business owner who staffs queer people, if you have the spare moment to look for queer small business in June, 100% of that money goes toward queer survival, versus a 10% tax write off for big corporations.
I can imagine cackling at funny memes posted by someone who identifies as "salt & butthole flavoured" but commentary meant to be taken seriously? Hard pass.

I used to brown-bag it there often back when I worked in the nearby Pyramid!

My father LOVED Grape Nuts (gross!) but that wouldn't have stopped him from cackling at this. 🤣
This made me cackle way more than it should have and I thank you 😁
My BARBIE experience was at the opposite end of the age spectrum: I'm 69 and a 19-year-old trans neighbor invited me to go see it with them. We both loved it, though I would also have enjoyed it with a 72-year-old!
Dottie has a new ride (which she LOVES!), a gift from a stranger in the neighborhood who saw us walking down the street and asked if I could use it. She wanted to pass it along to someone in need and seeing Dottie touched her heart. 💕
LMAO!
LMAO I love it!
I can't recall for certain but this was absolutely one of the first, if not the very first.
Lyrics of the song "By Myself" The party's over, the game is ended, the dreams I dreamed went up in smoke. They didn't pan out as I had intended; I should know how to take a joke. I'll go my way by myself, this is the end of romance. I'll go my way by myself, love is only a dance. I'll try to apply myself and teach my heart to sing. I'll go my way by myself like a bird on the wing, I'll face the unknown, I'll build a world of my own; No one knows better than I, myself, I'm by myself alone. I'll go my way by myself, here's how the comedy ends. I'll have to deny myself love and laughter and friends. Grey clouds in sky above have put a blot on my fun. I'll try to fly high above for a place in the sun. I'll face the unknown, I'll build a world of my own; No one knows better than I, myself, I'm by myself alone
