I'm no expert either but he has a few like that for me- they are some of the closest approximations to nightmares that I've seen in paintings.
Oh, damn! You're right, and I LOVE that Bacon painting, but I never would have seen that until you pointed it out! I'm proud of myself for making anything that is even remotely reminiscent of that awesomeness. 😆
Ah, thanks so much! I love ambiguity and I hope that this piece inspires exactly what you articulated!
It was a really personal piece so it's been really gratifying to see everyone respond to it- you've articulated exactly what I wanted it to do- thank you for letting me know I was successful!
Oh, wow. I love Stephen Gammell's creepy art, so this has made my day. Thank you! 😁
That's an lovely thing to say and makes me happy. If you ever want to use it, you get first dibs 😂
Thank you so much! 😁
Ooh, yeah, I can see that! Another one of my favorites!
Aw, thanks! I have a website if you're really curious- the link's in my profile, but they're a bit more refined than this one. A lot are still creepy, though!
Such a unique and underseen movie! Glad you enjoyed it, it's one of my favorites because I'll never forget that ending!
Ah, thank you so much! I really appreciate you taking the time to tell me this! 😊
Someone else mentioned this one, too, so thanks- going on the list!
Oh, and also, Gone Girl IS great. Rosamund Pike is FANTASTIC in it, and it's one of Ben Affleck's most natural, believable roles (which is funny to dwell on, once you've seen the movie) 😁
I've seen some of these but there are a few on here I've wanted to see- and now I know I can, so thanks very much!!
I don't know much about Magic the Gathering (other than basic layperson stuff) but that drawing is fantastic, and I love that he created a card for it- especially if he is a fan of the game
I used to get excited for them but then overwhelmed with feelings of obligation & wanting them to be good & "perfect." It helped me to set a specific amount of time towards them: like, 15 minutes or an hour to do one, & that's it, no matter how it looks. Ymmv, but that helped me enjoy them more.
They're both on my list, so you did help confirm that my show list is solid 😂
Ah- this is perfect! I never would have thought to look here, lol. Thank you so much- you rock, Freddie! 😁🖤
I've seen the first 3 (so far) so I will definitely check this one out, thanks!

🎥 We got #AppleTV+ & I am VERY aware of all the shows there- I've been making a list for months.
What good #movies are #streaming? I have no clue & would like to NOT scroll for a zillion years to see what's avail. #Horror a plus, but all recs appreciated.
HELP PLEASE, LOVELY INTERNET PEOPLE! Thx!
OMG My first comprehension read this as:
"Defenestration in IT" (as in the Stephen King book) and then, reading the rest, realized it was about I.T. and started laughing at my horror default bias 😆
I cannot help but be authentic when writing on SM and my heart-brain pings when I see sincerity and truth, because so much of it all is contrived, cultivated, or curated. I don't always respond to your stuff but I always read it when I see it and recognize the realness (and appreciate it and you.)
It's not a perfect film but it is absolutely worth seeking out and has some truly creepy moments. I knew nothing about it when I watched it and was genuinely blown away with how much I enjoyed it. (But I love cosmic/folk horror, lol)
Thanks! I hope you seek out the ones you haven't seen before! I tried to pick genuinely good movies that offered solid scary &/or fantastic moments... It was hard because there are so many, but I don't know what most horror people have/haven't seen 😆
Great list and I should/could have put Day Of the Beast on mine, too!
I 🖤 Jessica. The sound in that movie is a character unto itself.
Absolutely true, I can be self aware & still fall prey to the BS. I know I'm better/more cognizant of it all now, vs past me, but it's a journey I'm still on. (I find your candor & authenticity one of the most beautiful things about you- it's a rare choice, being real/vulnerable in this world.)

"Beauty" is subjective & the worst damage comes from us internalizing society's definition of what it is. Whoever we are, chance, experiences, our lives shape & scar us/our bodies. I have my own internal struggles & opinions on it all, but thanks for the interesting thoughts & insight into yours. 🖤
