Aka Phil Russell, sometime writer, sometime rumour.

I see we're back to Moffat writing the bangers in the RTD series again
The impending nightmare summer brings with it the urge to rewatch that movie where Carla Gugino gets possessed by a mermaid and bangs Rufus Sewell
I've been reading some of the cusp-of-the-Bronze-Age Marvels, but that unfortunately means exposure to unhealthy levels of Roy Thomas
In other, more distressing news, "AI art" has been creeping its way into the "cheerful brunette teaches you some French" videos.
I only blame myself for seeing the blue puppety guy who gets too excited about Nintendo pop up in my youtubes again
This cover of a song from Nilsson's Popeye came up in a playlist yesterday and I hope that this makes someone's day.

www.youtube.comI didn't have my glasses on, so I read this as "commencement spider". I'd much rather have the Commencement Spider.
Nobody actually wants a commencement speaker. Nobody gives a shit. Stop having them.
I absolutely must have watched this, but all I can really recall is the theme song.
TIL: There was short-lived '80s sitcom called THROB, about a single mother who gets a job at a new wave record label. Co-starred Jane Leeves and Paul Walker.
Opening and closing from "Throb," a 1986 syndicated TV series created by Fredi Towbin. Probably inspired by the surprise syndicated success of "WKRP in Cincinnati," the show was about a single mother in her '30s who goes to work at a young-skewing record company where everyone is a little younger and hipper than she is. It did well in its first season but was canceled after the second season. It featured many musical performances in the studio by artists both fictional and real. Canova co-sang the theme song.
youtu.beMaybe that *was* the whole song, not unlike "I'm So Sad, So Very, Very Sad" by Crash and the Boys.
"That Thing You Do!" by the Wonders (Oneders?) has got to be up there.
"Yes, Supercarrier! Strange vessel from another planet, who came to Earth with powers and abilities far beyond those of normal ships!"
Yesterday in Hollow Knight news I finally beat a boss that gave me grief the last time I attempted this game. I know the endgame is calling for me, but I still want to play around in that world a bit longer.
They condensed "Inferno" into a single half hour. All bets are off.
Oh, nothing, just thinking of Jaclyn Smith doing the "Gilda" hair flip in the Charlie's Angels intro
Alt: Jaclyn Smith doing the "Gilda" hair flip (among other things!) in the Charlie's Angels intro.
media.tenor.comIt's such a small detail! But it makes the show feel like it has a bigger history.
One of the most ingenious things about '97 is the changing of the intro, showing little flashbacks and story beats, and keeping up with the shifts in the team roster. It captures the vibe of the editor's footnotes and "roll call" corner boxes of the comics.
Part of me doesn't want X-Men '97 ('98?) to come back because how are you gonna follow up that first season with that same level of quality
Why are they all cosplaying as Blake's 7
I don't know why Tubi really wants me to watch Don Rickles sitcom vehicle CPO SHARKEY, but no thank you
Some time between the cat waking me up for his breakfast and the actual alarm clock I had a brilliant idea that would fix a problem with this story I've been kicking around, so I only hope I'll be able to actually implement it before it fades away.
"Yeah, my uncle had a groff conklin, too. That's what he looked like, toward the end."
Oh hey she's doing her homage to that Louvin Brothers record cover
I tried to watch The Undead in tribute to Corman, but my brain kept tying to fill in the MST3k riffs.
CAMP SATAN: "Behold the subtle workings of my plans!"
CROW: "This is subtle?"
Same here. And we would often go to the mall on Sundays, so I don't think I ever saw one of them actually open anyway.
Having flashbacks to my brother's wedding where they had a hot dog bar and the "groom's cake" was a tower of Natty Light cans
The Premature Burial is still pretty good, but Ray Milland is no Vincent Price
Watching the "Viking Women and the Sea Serpent" episode of MST3k and a lot of things are falling into place
I was so enthralled by particularly his Poe movies, I ended up writing a research paper on Corman for a film class.
I mean, I used to think it was weird that Israel could even participate in Eurovision in the first place but their messed up colonial history and expansionist actions pretty much make them honorary Europeans
