I understand puppy mills are awful, awful places. It's basically to the point due to the economics of it that the only "ethical" breeders in this concept are all AKC registered purebred (I only have experience in usa) and I don't understand how purebred are "ethical" considering the genetic issues

A very calming tone. I use very calming tones when people are angry. Matter of fact tones piss angry people off.
Well, I mean, there ARE purebred dogs and cats who end up needing rescue, if you want to have a pet you know won't bother your allergies. But otherwise, yeah, no.
Most people I know who have gotten purebred animals from breeders rather than adopting have not done it because of allergies, either.

I don't think I would be able to wrap my head around getting a purebred myself but reputable breeders are a thing that exist. It's not like you have a backyard full of inbred "twisty cats".
