The flow rate has further decreased and the eruption condensed into two vents. Though lava can be seen erupting (and presumably flowing into lava tubes), there doesn't seem to be an active leading edge. Grindavík keeps shifting and quakes keep continuing, leading to concerns of possible new vents.

The orange shows the lava field from the first ˜12 hours of the eruption. The red shows how much further it went in the ˜12 hours after that.

ED: This pic seems to contradict the claims that the road was closed before lava flowed through it. Still, it looks like at least the vast majority of the lava stream has followed the berm to the end and is continuing past it.

Here's a different volcano from tonight. It's got an open crater of lava at the top and it's at a stage yellow warning for eruption, and some folks say it could happen really soon.

The eruption south of the defense that was built at Grindavík has erupted. Three houses were destroyed by lava or a well, but it is not seen that more fell prey to the lava. An eruption began north of Grindavík just before eight o'clock yesterday morning. .

The power plant Svartsengi has been evacuated due to dangerous levels of gas pollution.

This eruption has been the most powerful yet, so while only at 2-5% of its original flow rate, it's still building up a lava lake. There's concerns that it could break out to the south at any point.

Not very likely. The lava tunnel stretches out into the ocean, but it is 15 km long and widest in another place. And if the eruption happens underwater there would be an ash plume, but only as long as the lava is in contact with water, but it would quickly build up a crater I think?
