A Beakman in a Bill Nye World
Star Trek Discovery was a joy for me for all five seasons. Not perfect, but a joy from start to finish.
I will smile, because it happened. I finished the episode this morning feeling good.
The MAGA backlash does concern me a little, ngl. Especially given that they have people in law enforcement, intelligence, FBI, etc.
I'm hoping it's not as big as I'm thinking it COULD be.
I know, right! If I didn't see the news break, I wouldn't have believed it.
Oh no.
This is not good. Houston, we have a problem.
And this is one of the criticisms of AEW I'm on board with. 95 percent of their TV matches, while never lacking in great in-Ring action, have a very obvious conclusion.
Rocky winning would go HARD. 🤼
All that has to happen to shut up the haters is for Rocky to win tonight. Thats the biggest criticism I’ve seen of the eliminator matches, is that no one wins them. So change it up. Have Rocky win.

The 2000s indy wrestling era > The Monday Night Wars Era 🤼
Great Washington Post nostalgia study. Adults think U.S. society was historically nicest and comfiest—most moral and close-knit, families happiest—whenever they happened to be little kids, and culture (music, movies, TV, fashion, sports, food) best whenever they were adolescents. wapo.st/3WXd9xS
Jon Moxley vs. Rocky Romero.
You can't even allow what will likely be a pretty good TV match to lead into an angle that will start Forbidden Door season? You just have to hyperfixate on your fantasy booking and how it "doesn't make sense"?
Fucking dorks. 🤼
Every so often, I'm still subjected to smut on the timeline against my will. The stray out of pocket post, a jpeg from a professional that someone commented under.
I know it's not completely avoidable ever, but everybody else complains about the little shit they don't like, so fuck off.
Maybe I'm just an old IWC Smark, fighting a war that ended a long time ago, but until I see otherwise, I'm pre-emptively laughing at TNA for letting Jordynne Grace go over to NXT, and getting paid in "exposure" for it. 🤼
Loving matching tag team gear is universal.
Which means Vince McMahon probably didn't get it.
I'm making a conscious effort not to be so jaded about wrestling, thanks to AEW. So, I'm not really worked up about it either.
But if I see someone complaining about Eliminator matches, while simultaneously saying they want AEW to be more sports-based, they're getting a tire iron in the teeth.
I saw something last night, that irked me. And I realized it may not be the most palatable, socially acceptable opinion.
Why are wrestling fans so worked up over eliminator matches?
This might be my the theme of my prog rock concept album.
Roman has fourteen family members and quasi-family members. This is fine for Cody.
Thank you, Bluesky. I have found the very, very, very end of how far I'm willing to stretch my empathy.
Great read.
Oh hey, yesterday was Article Day! (Sorry we're late 😅) We went live with a new piece by Caitlin Sinclair Chappell that looks at Zom 100, and why the way the series' focus on workers, combined with a distinctly anti-capitalist message, could cement it as a genuinely important work in the future.
While he is uncertain of what that future will look like, he is certain—as are his friends—that he will not return to the normal that exploited him mentally, physically, and financially for the benefi...
hera.fyiBut couldn't you say those nerds are screaming about Cartoon Network Originals being elsewhere, because they know Cartoon Network isn't and won't do anything with them for the foreseeable future?
As of now, unknown. Just some very, very unseemly people.
That?
That is enough Bluesky for the day. That's what that is.
Still happening.

My belief is further cemented that The Economy™ is complete and total fucking nonsense, and literally no one knows what's happening day to day.

Me when there is a grievance on Bluesky:
I'm endlessly fascinated by methodology and proclivity.
The "Why" behind rituals and process is so interesting.
I think it has to be said that Furiosa had some nigh-impossible hype and expectations to live up to, with Theron's performance and the fact that Fury Road was the JUGGERNAUT that it was.
I will say I did go see it tho.
