I get that almost every day with Spamilan. Don't know the English name, but it tastes vile.
Thank you. It's a nice idea, and I would, but the battery's flat on my kindle and I haven't got a charging cable for it at the moment.
Yes, I don't suppose it adds much to the sum of human knowledge, but it's nice to have a mistake cleared up.
Damn right.
Why are there ANY laws on abortion? Are there laws on vasectomies? On colonoscopies? On knee replacement? On laser eye surgery?
The only reason there are laws on abortion is because men want to control women's bodies and lives
The only law on abortion should read: It's none of your fucking business
You can say that again. Look out Rishi. He likes helicopters, too.
This is curious, to say the least.

An island eroding into the bay offers tantalizing clues about when and how humans first made their way into North America.
wapo.stOops. The helicopter carrying the Iranian President has apparently crashed. Not yet found.
That kind of questioning is something that I think Britain as a country is particularly bad at. Especially given our (not minor) role in it. And until we do ask those questions, and get satisfactory answers, we're not going to move forward as a country and will remain susceptible to flag shagging.
For those not in the know, Żabka is a chain of franchised convenience stores. They're massively popular due to the fact that in towns and cities, statistics say that nobody is more than 300m from a Żabka. "Żabka" means "little frog", by the way.
Mine was both of those - music & books. I was extremely lucky in that my local library had a record and tape section. I was in there once or twice a week borrowing sf books and weird and wonderful music. It really was a treasure trove. I'll never forgive the tories for what they've done to libraries
I read a statistic in Wyborcza last year that stuck with me. At least in towns and cities nobody is more than 300m from a Żabka.
Me too. I was still young enough at that point to have sort of heroes, and he was definitely one of them.
Badum-tish, Saw him compete a couple of times as a kid.
Eggs - Scotch
Steak - rare, verging on blue
Alcohol - beer, Okocim by preference
Hot drink - strong black coffee with a sweetener, only in the morning.
Eggs- fried, daily.
Steak- rare
Alcohol - red wine
Hot drink- coffee, ground, strong, black.
Probably means I'm a psychopath.
Indeed. I think lesson learnt quite a long time ago in my case. And here, the caption describing the photo was as accurate as can be ascertained.
No, I agree entirely. I think your original comment was entirely apposite.
That's true. I wish there was some way of really penalising these people financially. It's the only language they seem to understand.
Yes she is. I have no idea who the man is, but I hate him.
And after Elphicke, I'm pretty sure Starmer would welcome him with open arms. 🤣
Yes. I suppose there's a fine to disappearing line between hedge fund manager and gambling addict.
Yup. It is weird though. I think he'd be much more interesting if he had as much money as he has, but was a Labour politician.
I think it's some sort of game to him, to be honest. Which is a tremendous shame, because he's no bloody good at it.
Reasonable.

#NowPlaying Bob Mould - "Workbook"
A brilliant album. Bob Mould's post-Hüsker Dü is a thing of joy, and this is the album that started it off.

Yes, I agree. The focus on internal party struggles is absolutely not the point.
Morning Paulette! Hope you have a great Sunday.
On topic, I know what you mean. Sunak's problems with the swivel-eyed loonies on the right of the tory party are not interesting, but this idea of cutting back on overseas students when they're about the only people coming to the UK is massively stupid
Ah yes. Music for people who don't like music. My favourite.
Hoping to see them on tour. Assuming British bands are actually allowed out of the country these days.
More horrendousness. "If you don't go to school, your parents will go to prison."

#NowPlaying Dopethrone - "Dark Foil"
This is the third album I've heard by Dopethrone now, and I'm really taken with them. As a reviewer says, "If tar had a sound, it would sound like this". Rifftastic.

Got my first lesson planned for next week. Comparing child poverty in the UK and Poland. I hope it will provide some lively discussion.
We really do. The whole country is crying out for it. We're in desperate straits now, and the tories have no solutions. Every idea they come up with is loonier than the last.
#NowPlaying Songs:Ohia - "Electric Magnolia Co."
I've been listening to this all week. It really is a cracker. In a Neil Young sort of vein, but bleaker. Take a listen. You're almost guaranteed to like it.

Ha, yes, spot on. There's a good piece in the FT today about Esther McVey as the Minister for Common Sense and how, if there's anything the current *doesn't* have, it's common sense..
This is yet another example of it. He's in thrall to the goggle-eyed frothing-at-the-mouth wing of the party.
I particularly enjoyed the Cun (Hungarian) one. The whole paper revolved around the mistranslation of one word in the Lord's Prayer based on the evidence from etymology, pronunciation, and grammar. As you say, fascinating.
Wow! Fantastic costumes! Well done. I'm always in awe of the amount of work you put into them, and to such excellent effect. I'm really glad you've been having fun, despite being in heels all day. Hope today is as entertaining.
