Oh no! Gotta get 'em all, so get out there 😉. I think I've seen everybody except ring-necked. Common mergansers checked in on the weekend ✅
Surely "seen" is enough! There is no "pics or it didn't happen" in birding 😂
Sorry to hear it's been disappointing. I do find it surprising how from year to year I see different things - maybe because it all happens so fast. If I'm not out on the right day, I miss all the blackpoll warblers because they're only here for a day 🤷♀️
In case you’re wondering how smol eared grebes are - here’s a pair with a convenient northern shoveler for scale

Migration season is a great time to see subtle beauties like this Lincoln's sparrow. The rest of the season they are very secretive, nesting on the ground and rarely coming out from under cover to be admired 🌿 #birds

www.birdscanada.orgThanks. They are so cool and I don’t see them all that often so it was exciting
That's awesome. Mixed flocks are such an interesting warbler thing
Very cool. I've only ever seen young ones (in PA park a few years ago)
An American ton is 907.19 kg so that means with each yellow warbler weighing about 10 g a ton of warblers would be 90,719 birds 🤓. Too many? 🤣😂
Wilson’s phalaropes do this thing where they spin in tiny circles, stirring up food. It’s really something. Also phalarope females are more colourful than males so this species has a lot going for it 😎 #birds
Yes indeed. Lilacs are a big thing around here. This is the time when they are EVERYWHERE and it's pretty nice
I keep thinking I’ve seen the perfect one and then I see something even more amazing. What a day! Such a nice change from a week of zoom meetings 😂
