This is a excellent & vitally important point.

There's a flipside to it, too: get the person who wants you to write about something to explain it to you, til you get it. Even if they get angry.

Because often, *they can't* because *they* don't understand it.

& that's a story in itself.

I don't mean to be an ass about this, but trademark law is something that seems deceptively simple but can be extremely complicated, and the media often does a very poor job accurately describing it.

Yup. I stay talking about this. Because the only people who talk about police killings now are Black people mourning each other. That's it. The moment for it to be a concern for the nation passed. This president is particularly cruel for choosing increased policing as a response to George Floyd.

what amazes (or "amazes") me is the lack in media outrage & coverage over such killings. we were livid at such things under Obama and Trump (not that our anger curtailed such violence), but ive hardly seen national media reactions to police killings under Biden.

It isn't surprising. Anyone who does something the police don't like is likely to become a victim of police brutality. It's just that someone being a minority is something police don't like.
