Today I encountered the "argument" that if you if you (rightfully) include binary trans people in "men and women" but ignore nonbinary folk, it's not transphobic because not all nonbinary folk identify as trans... 🤦

Love being trans masc with no chance of ever being able to do top surgery- it's like most of the trans "community" sees me as cis and just fucking ignores me.

This needs to be yelled loudly nonstop at the furry community right now, because we are seeing some of the worst exclusionist bullshit flooding the community thanks to numerous popular well-liked viral posters believing bigoted gatekeeper exclusionary beliefs and peddling it across the fandom.
I'm a cis-het guy in my 60s. I can't pretend to understand what it feels like to be trans or nonbinary or to have gender dysmorphia, but I don't have to *understand* to simply have some empathy and respect and basic human decency. I recommend transphobes and homophobes try a little decency.
I look at how much literature, entertainment, etc. has been made throughout all of human history simply about cis men and women having difficulty understanding each other. No idea how people are intending to suddenly have it all figured out with trans people!

Sometimes I hesitate to engage because when I first came out as nonbinary, a trans person in my circle of acquaintances took every opportunity to tell me I was Doing It Wrong, for years trying to act as the sole arbiter of what was Acceptable
Yeah, that's exactly what I'm trying to speak against. Clearly that person felt insecure, and tried to marginalize you from the narrow slip of territory they were trying to claim. That's not ok, and I'm sorry you experienced that.
There is no wrong way to be trans. We're all just trying to get by.

My dad (70-year-old college prof) was talking about trans students and said "It doesn't make sense to me, but you know, my dad didn't understand long hair on men when I was a kid, either. I just try to be nice." Works for me.
Imagine some a going into surgery to have her breasts removed, and then when the surgeon is 75% done removing them, while the person's still under anaesthesia - tadaa!!! - their gender identity changes and now they're a man. I mean tell that to a woman who's had mastectomy because of breast cancer.

If there's an imbalance in the visibility and space taken up between nonbinary and binary trans women, binary trans women *by far* have more space and visibility than even trans men and nonbinary people combined.
Resources are not being diverted from trans women to the theyfabs.
