Pois é, acho que os TTs, querendo ou não, ajudam a tornar a rede mais interessante, possibilitam maior interação e descoberta de perfis em torno dos assuntos mais comentados (e essa mesma confluência pode cagar tudo, rs), além de dar um termômetro do que é assunto no momento, mas enfim, complexo.
O legal de rede descentralizada é que você não precisa nem ficar no site e app padrão, tem outros por aí que já oferecem essas coisas que você quer, da uma olhada e testa eles até achar o que gosta mais (importante, gere senhas de Aplicativos nas configurações)

When you introduce video, please make sure there's an option to prevent autoplay. I can't use Instagram because I love still images and find auto video intrusive and unwelcome. I'd hate to have to leave here. It's been great so far.

I think the issue is that the link in the post is already on `bsky.app` so the mobile web app is trying to open it too.
If you navigate directly to `bsky.app/download` from within your mobile browser or click on that link from any other website it should work.

Actually it's a bit more complicated I think. In both Firefox and Safari on my iPad copy and pasting in the download link redirects me to the homepage.
However... when I turn off Request Desktop Website in Safari, just for bsky.app or in Settings and then try, it properly takes me to the App Store
I usually have Request Desktop Website enabled by default because for most sites it gives a better experience
yeah it uses the user agent of your browser to determine what device you're on. my guess is request desktop site pretends to be a desktop user agent in which case we just redirect to the home page

yeah. one has tried to start using text hashtags, and i’m seeing a lot less of it. the other has basically told me to get over it and they’re not going to make any changes - which is fair, honestly. i don’t necessarily want people to change their behavior for me, i just want better tools.

I would suggest that you disable auto-play by default. There are a lot of people out there with motion sickness and neurological disabilities triggered by flashy gifs. Just a thought.
Hi, I'm someone who hates moving pictures! I can settle for an option to turn off auto play, god knows no other social websites is that generous.
If you're on web and have prefers-reduced-motion enabled then GIF autoplay will automatically be turned off by default

I saw that GIF autoplay is disabled on web if prefers-reduced-motion, is it possible for the app to follow the Reduce Motion pref on iOS as well?

Web-only change. Only affects the default the first time we init this setting. From that point on, it will be read from storage, as usual.

Yeah, but if I'm not using my personal machine, which is common, there's nothing I can do about it. There's also plenty of people who don't know about that setting. Other people might not even know they have a problem until they log in for the first time and it triggers a seizure.
Yeah those are some good points, and I think the autoplay setting might be stored in local storage so it's per-device not per-account
One thing that might be helpful to some is the @nogifsplease.bsky.social labeler, which once you've subscribed to it applies to your account, independent of device

Ah, update: the setting to disable it only works on the main feed. If I open a message with a gif, it autoplays.

This is all very good, but we would appreciate it if you could add some features for us visually impaired people so that we can use the platform more easily with screen readers. When using BlueSky on the phone, it would be easier to navigate the posts with rotor gestures, like, reply, reshare;
likewise, when using BlueSky on the computer, it would be a much more accessible platform for us visually impaired people with features like going to previous/next post with keyboard shortcuts, liking, replying, resharing, creating posts.

Não fiz ainda, mas parece que nas configurações você pode colocar em reprodução automática de Gifs.
